We have our first full set of fixtures in the Vitality Blast on Friday evening which means those who are yet to get underway in the tournament will do so and some of the sides who have already played a match get to so for a second time.
With the television focus being on the international match there is no TV coverage of these games but many counties are offering a live streaming service these days so there will be plenty of ways of keeping up to date.

North Group
The Birmingham Bears will be looking to make it two wins from two outings when they head to New Road to take on a Worcestershire side aiming to win matches in successive evenings. Leicestershire Foxes are also looking to make it to two wins when they host the Durham Jets while Northamptonshire Steelbacks and Nottinghamshire Outlaws will be wanting to bounce back from disappointing defeats in the first set of matches. The other match sees Derbyshire Falcons starting their campaign against Lancashire Lightning.
South Group
The first match up in the South Group sees Somerset and Gloucestershire beginning their campaigns at Taunton. Two other sides who play for the first time this season are Hampshire and Glamorgan and they meet at the Ageas Bowl while down in London, Surrey host the One Day Cup finalists Kent and the other match on the evening sees Essex looking to avoid a second defeat in a row when they host Middlesex who are looking for a second win in the space of 24hrs.

Match Betting
I’m going to go with three match bets over the course of the night and there is a familiar theme in all of them. I’ve regularly mentioned how hard it is to back up performances in successive nights and that is going to be a real issue for Surrey, Middlesex and Lancashire.
Middlesex might find it a little easier in that they won on Thursday night and winning takes less out of you but even then heading to Chelmsford on a Friday night is never fun for the visiting team and Essex look better than Middlesex in almost all departments. Kent are an excellent one day unit and they can beat a Surrey side who not only played on Thursday, but will miss Sam Curran on top of the other absentees while the wicket at Derby is not going to suit Lancashire’s spin attack. Derbyshire have some great fast bowlers for this competition and I’m backing them to get off to a winning start. In honesty I’d be backing Kent, Essex and Derbyshire even if their opponents hadn’t played on Thursday. The fact they did enhances my confidence.
Player Betting
I’m going with just the one player bet as well which comes in the form of Benny Howell and his performance line which given how successful he has been in this format of the game is far too low at 36.5.
He will bowl his four overs of variety and is always a wicket taking threat and he will field in key positions too. He is also a valuable batsman for Gloucestershire as well so when you throw all of that into the mix he’ll cover this with an average day in all departments. A good day with bat or ball and he’ll fly past it. I’m on the over here.
