2018 Vitality Blast – Sunday 8th July Matches Betting Preview

We have a near full round of matches in the Vitality Blast on Sunday afternoon as the competition begins to get up to full speed. There are seven fixtures in all up and down the two groups so it should be a decent afternoon of action.

With the international game being on TV we are reduced to the live streams and social media updates and radio commentaries to keep up to date with these matches but there are enough ways to keep on top of the action.

North Group

The Worcestershire Royals will look to make it three wins from three matches on Sunday when they head to Derby to take on Derbyshire. Northamptonshire Steelbacks make the lengthy trip to Old Trafford to take on Lancashire while the Leicestershire Foxes host local rivals Nottinghamshire at Grace Road. The match of the day in this group could come at Edgbaston where the Birmingham Bears face the Yorkshire Vikings.

South Group

There are three matches in the South Group on Sunday afternoon with Middlesex playing host to Gloucestershire at Uxbridge while Sussex make the trip down to Cardiff to face Glamorgan in a match which sees two sides with 100% records doing battle. The other match sees Somerset and Kent, two other sides who have won their only matches to date, doing battle down at Taunton.

Betting

There are two bets I like the look of on Sunday afternoon. The match bet I like is for the Birmingham Bears to see off the Yorkshire Vikings. I’m very keen on the Bears this season and I’ll let them off their defeat on Friday night as derbies can go either way. I just think they will have too much bowling firepower for Yorkshire and their batting depth can really hurt the away side too. Yorkshire have a doubt over Tom Kohler-Cadmore for this one which would be a massive loss to them if he is out. If Birmingham can bowl as well to the Yorkshire top order as they did the Nottinghamshire one on the opening night they will win this.

I also like over 10.5 sixes in the Leicestershire vs Nottinghamshire match at Grace Road. When these two sides met at Leicester in the One Day Cup 409/7 played 316/9 and it isn’t as though either side have slowed down with the bat with both having scored well over 200 in one of their matches already this term. Often there is a short boundary at Grace Road these days but even if there isn’t these two sides tend to go around the park. I’m happy to expect 11 sixes here.
