2018 World Championship Snooker – Day 12 Betting Preview

The two table set up draws to a close inside the Crucible Theatre on Wednesday when the quarter finals of the World Championship come to an end. At the end of the three sessions of play we will know the four men who will battle it out for the prestigious title and the biggest first prize the sport has ever seen.

Two of the quarter finals have just one session left to play on Wednesday while the other two still have to play two more sessions. Those two matches are beautifully poised on what has all the makings of an extremely dramatic day of snooker action.

Tuesday Recap

It looked like we were on for four tight matches after the first sessions of each of the quarter finals but that script never made its way to Kyren Wilson and Barry Hawkins who both powered clear of Mark Allen and Ding Junhui respectively to lead their opponents 11-5. It will surely be a formality for both to progress on Wednesday.

The other two matches are very much in the balance though. A fantastic session between Mark Williams and Ali Carter saw the two rightly come out level at 4-4 while Judd Trump has opened up a 5-3 lead on John Higgins but you get the impression that the Scot is far from done in that one just yet.

In Play Betting

There are only two matches we can realistically bet on over the course of Wednesday although I think I’ve got the Williams and Carter match covered with my bet on the overs in frames in that one. I do think there is money to be made on the other one though.

John Higgins might be 5-3 behind but he’ll have won plenty of matches from that position. He was actually 4-1 down at one stage so he will probably take only trailing 5-3 overnight. I fancy we will see the best of the Scot over the course of Wednesday. Whether he is good enough to reel Judd Trump in or not remains to be seen but this already has over 22.5 frames written all over it. I don’t see Higgins going without a fight while Trump only needs five of 15 frames to get to 10 himself. Over 22.5 looks to have every chance to me.

Tips

WON – Back J.Higgins vs J.Trump – Over 22.5 frames for a 4/10 stake at 1.83 with Coral
