2018 World Championship Snooker Final – Day 17 Betting Preview

We are down to the final day of the World Championship, the day where the 2018 world champion will be crowned at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield and it looks as though the title will be heading across the Severn Bridge with Mark Williams holding a decent enough lead overnight.

That said we have only had 17 frames of a possible 35 so there is plenty of time for things to change in that regard. We’ve seen some amazing snooker in this final so far and you get the feeling there is a lot more to come.

Sunday Recap

After two sessions of this final we have Mark Williams in the lead by a 10-7 scoreline. John Higgins probably would have taken that though when he trailed 4-0 right at the beginning of the match. Both men scored well on the opening day though so however this one pans out from here it should be laced in quality.

Betting

John Higgins is in the opposite situation to the one he was in last year when he led by this exact scoreline going into the final day. He saw Mark Selby catch him and whizz past him so he will know based on that, that it can be done.

Mark Williams is a seasoned campaigner though and there is a confidence and a belief about him. The Welshman has won more of the scrappier frames in this final which probably isn’t a complete surprise but with the way he is scoring it could be hard for Higgins to reel him in the longer this one goes. I fancy Williams will hold on to enough of his advantage to win this final by at least two frames.
