The Bundesliga weekend continues on Saturday and after a demolition job was done in the Berlin derby to get the fixture list up and running, us neutrals will be hoping for a few more competitive matches to enjoy over the course of the day.
Saturday is a day where we have the champions and many of the chasing pack in action and with the big German clash coming up in midweek there will be a lot of eyes on the top two ahead of their meeting on Tuesday evening.
Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (2.30pm UK time unless stated)
Borussia Monchengladbach vs Bayer Leverkusen
Freiburg vs Werder Bremen
Paderborn vs Hoffenheim
Wolfsburg vs Borussia Dortmund
Bayern Munich vs Eintracht Frankfurt (5.30pm)

Preview
It is a relatively short card for us to enjoy on Saturday where the pick of the matches sees the champions Bayern Munich hosting an Eintracht Frankfurt side who thrashed them 5-1 in the reverse meeting earlier in the season. That will be a revenge mission for the Bavarians. The other tasty looking clash sees two sides deep in the race for the Champions League spots meeting when Borussia Monchengladbach host Bayer Leverkusen in an appealing looking match.
Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund will look to go into the clash with Bayern in midweek off the back of a win when they make the trip to take on a potentially competitive Wolfsburg outfit. The other two matches see Werder Bremen head to Freiburg eager for a win to ease their relegation concerns while bottom of the lot Paderborn host a Hoffenheim side who will be out to bounce back from their loss to Hertha Berlin last week.
Betting
One or two bets interest me here but I’m keen to be selective in this division and with that in mind I’ll take just the one bet. It comes in the match between Freiburg and Werder Bremen where I am firmly on the home side. I saw Werder on Monday night and although they ran into a crack hot Bayer Leverkusen side it was clear to see they are a team who are really struggling, and there were no signs of life whatsoever.
The really damning thing about Bremen in that match was their defending. It was amateurish and every time a ball came into their box it looked like they would concede. I don’t really know what to make of Freiburg because despite their draw with RB Leipzig last week, their hosts were terrible in that match. I suspect it doesn’t matter what Freiburg are like here. Bremen look like they are gone based on the evidence of last week and Freiburg can stick another nail in their coffin here.
