The latest round of matches in the Bundesliga continue on Saturday afternoon when five more games take place up and down Germany, including a couple of very appealing games involving teams at the top end of the table on what could be another big day of action.
This round of fixtures began on Friday night when Freiburg upset the form book to topple Borussia Monchengladbach and now those chasing the top four have the opportunity to make their move and solidify their claims for a Champions League spot next term.
Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (14.30 UK time unless stated)
Dusseldorf vs Hoffenheim
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Mainz
Bayer Leverkusen vs Bayern Munich
RB Leipzig vs Paderborn
Borussia Dortmund vs Hertha Berlin (17.30)

Preview
The big match comes from the Bay Arena where Bayer Leverkusen and their star asset Kai Havertz pit their wits against the team who are marching towards the title in the form of Bayern Munich. Should the Bavarians slip up in that contest Borussia Dortmund will have one last chance to make something of the title race when they welcome free-scoring and entertaining Hertha Berlin to Signal Iduna Park in the later game to kick off.
The other three matches all impact on the bottom end of the table. Bottom of the pile Paderborn are getting close to must win territory but they have their work cut out getting anything out of a trip to RB Leipzig. Dusseldorf are currently in the relegation play-off spot but they can ease their position if they can see off Hoffenheim at home. The other match sees Mainz, one ahead of Dusseldorf in the table, travelling to Eintracht Frankfurt in a game the visitors cannot afford to lose but if they are to avoid defeat they’ll need to find a way to stop this rampant Frankfurt attack.
Betting
I’ll go with one in the matches on Saturday afternoon and it comes away from where the spotlight is as it is in the match between Eintracht Frankfurt and Mainz where I’m expecting the goals to flow. Since the Bundesliga has come back Frankfurt matches have been full of goals, although to be fair they weren’t short of them before the competition went into lockdown. I don’t see anything changing here that is for sure.
Mainz are getting towards the stage where a point isn’t going to be enough for them because Dusseldorf are beginning to look competent again so the visitors might have to go on the offensive here and take the game to their opposition. To be fair this is probably the game to do it in too after Eintracht Frankfurt had an outing in midweek. There’s no reason for Frankfurt not to go in search for goals here so I like the idea of over 3 landing.
