The midweek round of matches in the Bundesliga draw to a close on Wednesday night when the race to avoid relegation and the battle for the European spots form much of the spotlight across the five fixtures.
There were a couple of cracking matches for us to enjoy on Tuesday evening, although perhaps not necessarily the one everyone was looking forward to at the outset of the night, and we have similar over the course of Wednesday.

Preview
The night begins with what looks like being the pick of the matches on the card as RB Leipzig have the chance to move into second place in the table when they host Hertha Berlin, who have found some form under their new coach since the return. At the other end of the table two of the bottom three are in action as bottom of the pile Paderborn make the trip to face Augsburg while Dusseldorf will look to enhance their safety chances when they welcome a Schalke side who are in freefall to town.
There are a couple of what looks like being dead rubbers on the card as well. Hoffenheim and FC Koln sit nicely in mid-table so it remains to be seen what motivation they can find to treat us to an entertaining game. Union Berlin host Mainz in the other match on the night with the home side pretty safe. The visitors could do with a win to make sure they stay out of trouble so there might be a little more on that for them than their hosts.
Betting
It was a disappointing night for us on Tuesday night so we’ll try and claw some of those losses back on Wednesday evening when we attack the card with one bet, which comes in the opening match of the night where I’m expecting goals when the entertaining RB Leipzig play host to a Hertha Berlin team who have arguably been the pick of the teams outside the top two since the Bundesliga returned just over a week ago.
Leipzig were incredibly poor in their first match back from the break against Freiburg, but it could just be that they needed the run out. There was certainly nothing shabby about them in their win at Mainz on Sunday afternoon. There has been nothing to dislike about Hertha since the resumption. They took care of Hoffenheim in fine style in week one and then eased past their local rivals Union Berlin on Friday night, ironically all seven goals have come in the second half so their fitness is not up for debate. This match just screams goals to me. Hertha have shown they are going to entertain and Leipzig will be eager to win. Over 3.5 looks good to me here.
