2019-20 Premier League – Saturday 24th August Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The Premier League weekend continues on Saturday with six more matches as the top flight campaign continues to roll into life. We have two of the best teams in the competition going at it in one of the matches on what should be a decent day of action.

As ever with the Saturday’s in the early part of this season we have three different kick off times with two of the matches live on the TV in the UK and various methods of keeping up to date with the other four.

Early Kick Off

The day begins at Carrow Road where Norwich City will be looking for successive wins after their victory over Newcastle United last weekend. They entertain a Chelsea team who are still looking for their first three points under Frank Lampard, and who right now probably have more questions than answers based on what we’ve seen so far. We saw Norwich go toe-to-toe with Liverpool on the opening night and you sense they won’t be backing down here.

3pm Matches

There are four matches in the traditional 3pm slot which aren’t officially on TV in the UK. The biggest one of them is probably the one featuring Manchester United and Crystal Palace which sees Aaron Wan-Bissaka up against his former club. We also have a Brighton side who have hit the ground running this season taking on Southampton who have struggled to find their feet early doors. Two other matches take place at 3pm. They see Watford hosting West Ham and Sheffield United going up against Leicester City.

Late Game

The action concludes at Anfield where once again we have saved the best for last. Last week this slot was filled by Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur and this week it could be that it is the other two sides who could end up in the top four who are on show when Liverpool entertain Arsenal in what should be a wacky conclusion to what promises to be a wonderful afternoon of football.

Betting

I’ll take a couple of bets and as luck would have it they both come in the TV matches. I believe Norwich City are going to be involved in a lot of matches that contain more than 2.5 goals this season and given that the goal line for this match is only at three I think the over is very much a possibility. Norwich opened Liverpool up at will in their opening match so they are going to feast on this Chelsea back line but if there is a weakness with the Canaries it comes in the form of their defence. Daniel Farke is never going to shut up shop at home and with Teemu Puuki in excellent touch why would he? Over 3 looks good here.

The other bet I like is for over 3.25 goals in the late match. Let me start by saying I think Arsenal are a huge price based on what we’ve seen from both them and Liverpool this season but I do prefer the over. This doesn’t need a lot of explaining really. Both attacks are deadly and both defences have shown vulnerability this season. There has been three goals or more in both Liverpool matches while Arsenal had a three goal game with Burnley last week. It won’t take a lot from these two to add another onto that. I’ll take the over here.
