2019-20 Premier League – Saturday 2nd November Matches Tips and Betting Preview

We have a two day weekend in the Premier League and that gets underway on Saturday with eight of the 10 fixtures taking place on what should be a wonderful day of football in the top flight of England.

There are not many days at the present time that the top two in the Premier League are both on show on a Saturday but that is the case here. Actually five of the big six get stuck in on Saturday which should make for a great day.

Early Kick Off

The action kicks off at the Vitality Stadium where Bournemouth play host to Manchester United in a match where I would imagine both sides are looking at it as one they can win. Bournemouth tend to play above themselves at home while Manchester United have won three away games in a week and just quietly are beginning to look like something again and a win here would send out a bit of a statement regarding what they could yet get up to this season.

3pm Matches

There are six matches in the traditional 3pm slot which is quite a lot by recent standards. All eyes will be on the Emirates Stadium to see if the atmosphere improves any with Granit Xhaka not in the Arsenal side to face Wolverhampton Wanderers. The leaders Liverpool are in action in this slot too. They make the trip to Villa Park to take on Aston Villa while two sides who will be wanting points to ease their safety concerns collide at the Amex Stadium where Brighton and Hove Albion take on a Norwich City side who haven’t really got going on their travels thus far.

The champions Manchester City will also have a rare Saturday 3pm date. Their opponents are a Southampton side who must be fearing the worst making the long trip to the Etihad Stadium. Sheffield United will look to continue their solid start to the season when they play host to Burnley in a competitive looking match while the other game sees West Ham United looking to get back on track when they take on Newcastle United.

Late Game

The action concludes at Vicarage Road where bottom of the pile Watford continue their search for an elusive first win of the campaign when they host a Chelsea side who just quietly are beginning to look really good and given the amount of youngsters they have in their ranks are likely to improve further with every match. Watford are beginning to get cut adrift at the bottom and Chelsea are chasing the top four so this should be competitive enough.

Betting

I have to say that even though there are plenty of matches over the course of the day there isn’t a huge amount that I like here. There are one or two which tempt me but not quite enough to pull the trigger so in the end I’m going to focus my attentions on the Etihad Stadium where Manchester City and Southampton compete in a match I expect to be full of goals.

I mentioned last week how Southampton are really struggling defensively at present and while I didn’t envisage them shipping nine goals I did think they would struggle to contain Leicester and the same thing applies here. Manchester City eased past Southampton in the Carabao Cup in midweek with a number of fringe players in their ranks. The likes of Raheem Sterling and Kevin de Bruyne are likely to return here so Southampton will be under the pump again. To have any chance Saints may as well meet fire with fire so I’m happy to be on over 4 goals here. It is a line City can cover on their own.
