2019-20 Premier League – Sunday 6th October Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The last day of Premier League action prior to the international break sees four more matches in the top flight taking place on a day which could be another defining one at both ends of the top flight table.

Liverpool enhanced their title claims on Saturday afternoon so the champions will be out to respond on Sunday while a few sides with question marks over them get the opportunity to silence some of the doubters.

Sunday’s fixtures are as follows: (2pm unless stated)

Arsenal v AFC Bournemouth

Manchester City v Wolverhampton Wanderers

Southampton v Chelsea

Newcastle United v Manchester United (16.30)

Two of the four matches are live on TV for those of us who are in the UK to enjoy and you could argue that they are the worst of the two. They get underway at St Mary’s Stadium where Southampton will look to put another dent into the start of the season that Chelsea have made before the match which I saw labelled on Twitter during the week as ‘el Gloomico’ as Newcastle United host Manchester United in a match both sides need to win to ease the mounting pressure on themselves.

Away from the cameras we should get a much better time of it so it might be a day for the streams. Arsenal will look to build on their fine midweek win over Standard Liege when they host a Bournemouth side who usually play open and honest football so the styles of those two should produce something worth watching. The other match sees the champions Manchester City hosting a Wolverhampton Wanderers side who were playing in Turkey less than 72hrs prior to kick off in the Europa League.

Betting

I have to say there isn’t a huge amount which takes my fancy over these matches. The two TV games offer nothing in terms of betting interest for me and in truth the Manchester City against Wolverhampton Wanderers match doesn’t do much more. That leaves the match at the Emirates Stadium as the one which will occupy my Sunday betting fix.

Arsenal and Bournemouth are known for playing nice attacking football which much more emphasis placed at the right end of the pitch rather than the back one so I can see quite a high scoring match here. Arsenal tend to put the lesser sides to the sword at home but their defence will never convince me, while there is a softer underbelly to Bournemouth on the road, but as they showed at Southampton recently, they can still find the net on their travels. The goal line here is 3.5 which is high for an English game but it is a line I expect to be covered.
