2019-20 Premier League – Tuesday 3rd December Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The Premier League steps into new territory this week as Amazon Prime prepares to cover a three-night midweek fixture list, which gets underway with a couple of games on the streaming platform on Tuesday evening.

We have to wait until later in the week for many of the bigger stories in the league to develop and show their hands, but the new channel will open up its coverage with the champions Manchester City in action.

Crystal Palace vs Bournemouth (19.30)

The low key match of the night on Tuesday, if we can call it that, comes from Selhurst Park where Crystal Palace will be looking to follow up a good win at Burnley last time out when they entertain a Bournemouth team reeling from defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

I think it is fair to say that despite the win on Saturday, neither of these teams are in the best of form although Palace will be quick to point out that their run of three losses all came against teams in the top six unlike Bournemouth who suffered a defeat to Newcastle United in that run which is not the best of form guides it must be said.

This is a tricky one to call in many ways. I say that because Palace flatter to deceive at home while Bournemouth are pretty ordinary away from home. My gut feeling is I would rather favour Palace but the price isn’t a massive incentive so I’m happy to leave this one out.

Burnley vs Manchester City (20.15)

The second match on Tuesday evening sees the champions Manchester City look to get back to winning ways when they make the relatively short trip to Turf Moor to take on a Burnley side who slipped up against Crystal Palace at the weekend.

City go into this one with a number of injuries at their disposal with Sergio Aguero confirmed by Pep Guardiola that he will miss this match. Aymeric Laporte might still be their biggest loss in what is sure to be a physical sort of battle here against a Burnley side who are pretty direct and make no secret of that fact. We’ll find out just how much fight City have left in their title defence here.

The bet I like in this one is for Manchester City to win but both teams to score. I think City will have enough for this Burnley side but I don’t expect the home side to lose without a fight. City have only kept one clean sheet on the road since the opening day of the season, and that was against a Crystal Palace side who only Watford have scored fewer than this term. Burnley are dynamite on set-pieces where City can struggle so I see them scoring but I still expect the visitors to win.
