2019-20 Sky Bet Championship – Wednesday 26th February Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The midweek round of matches in the Championship concludes on Wednesday evening when the final seven games are played out up and down the country, and for a number of sides in action it is a big night.

We saw West Brom pull away at the top on Tuesday evening while Luton came off the bottom of the table so teams at either end of the table are going to need wins. All seven matches are live on TV on Wednesday night.

Wednesday’s fixtures are as follows: (7.45pm unless stated)

Blackburn Rovers v Stoke City

Fulham v Swansea City

Hull City v Barnsley

Preview

Leeds United will be looking to keep up the pace with West Bromwich Albion at the top of the table on Wednesday but more importantly they will be looking to keep the chasing pack at bay when they travel to Middlesbrough, who are getting reeled in by the bottom three quite quickly. Stoke City are another side who are on the edge of trouble and they could do with a win when they head to Ewood Park to face in form Blackburn Rovers.

Fulham will be looking to get their promotion push back on track on Wednesday night when they host a stuttering Swansea City side while Barnsley will look to climb off the bottom when they make the short trip to the KCOM to play Hull City. Sheffield Wednesday host Charlton Athletic in a match between two sides who are not yet safe in their current form while Wigan Athletic will be looking for three valuable points when they make the lengthy trip to the Madejski Stadium to play Reading. Millwall host Birmingham City in the other game.

Betting

I’ll go with one to hopefully build on my half win on Tuesday evening and that comes from the Riverside Stadium where it won’t take a whole lot for the toxic atmosphere to return which could see Middlesbrough really struggle. Leeds United haven’t been massively convincing over the last month or so but they are starting to get it right again and they should ease to victory against a side who look in a right rut.

Middlesbrough have played the bottom two in their last two matches and registered a solitary shot on target in the two outings which immediately suggests there is a problem. They are not going to see much of the ball here so unless the shackles come off because they have nothing to lose I expect the home side to struggle. Even if those shackles do come off this Leeds side have some mighty fine players and if they want to get promoted they should be putting this Middlesbrough side to the sword.
