2019 ATP Indian Wells BNP Paribas Open Tennis – Semi-Finals Betting Preview

It is semi-final Saturday at the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells and we have a wonderful line up to sit back and enjoy on what promises to be a wonderful evening of tennis as four star players battle it out for a place in Sunday’s final.

Dominic Thiem and Milos Raonic are two leading players in the world of men’s tennis at the present time but their clash will hardly be talked about given that we have the sport’s version of ‘El Clasico’ to follow it.

New customers, bet €/£20 on the Exchange and if your first bet loses, we’ll refund you €/£20 in Cash. Bet must be placed in first 7 days of account opening. T&Cs apply. 18+|Gamble Aware. Perfect for the weekend sport!

Dominic Thiem vs Milos Raonic

The opening semi-final sees the Austrian star Dominic Thiem meeting the Canadian number one Milos Raonic for a spot in Sunday’s final. These two have met twice in the past and Raonic has won on both occasions but it is Thiem who begins this last four clash as the favourite.

I’m not sure I see it that way though. Raonic took a while to get up to speed in this tournament but he has looked very good in the last two rounds and while Thiem has played well in the event so far I wonder if not having a quarter final has done him any favours. He hasn’t played since Wednesday so he could be a little rusty initially.

In normal circumstances I would see this as a 50:50 match or not far off it but in these conditions and with the early start assisting the big serve of the Canadian, I’ll take Raonic to come through here at odds against.

Roger Federer vs Rafael Nadal

When the first semi-final is done everyone will settle down for the main event of the day which sees Roger Federer taking on Rafael Nadal for battle number 39 between the two icons of the sport. Nadal leads 23-15 on previous meetings.

That is completely the opposite on a hard court though and Federer has won their last five meetings, all of which come on the surface. I think he will win this one too. Nadal had a tough quarter final on Friday while Federer breezed through his last eight match. Nadal was visibly struggling with his knee against Karen Khachanov, and while he will battle through the pain barrier, it only makes me more confident that Federer wins this. Nadal hasn’t won a set in their last three meetings. I’m not convinced he wins one here either.
