2019 PDC World Darts Championship – Day 11 Evening Session Betting Preview

The last session of arrers before Christmas takes place at Alexandra Palace on Sunday evening when the PDC World Darts Championship heads towards a three day break for the festivities to take place before returning for a conclusion.

We saw Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson go through in the first night of the third round on Saturday and on Sunday the defending champion Rob Cross and former winner Adrian Lewis will look to join them.

Adrian Lewis vs Darius Labanauskas

The first match of the night sees Adrian Lewis looking to set up a blockbuster last 16 clash with Michael van Gerwen. In order to take on the former champion though Lewis has to come past Darius Labanauskas who dumped Raymond Barneveld out in the last round.

Lewis wasn’t flawless in seeing off Ted Evetts in the previous round but he had way too many weapons for the youngster. He’ll need to improve as the tournament goes along but the longer format should bring out his better game as long as he has his mind on this one and not a match with van Gerwen. Labanauskas has played really well so far and deserves to be here and if Lewis takes him lightly he’ll take advantage. Lewis should win this but the Lithuanian wouldn’t be the first player he’s overlooked and paid the price again. Given all that nothing really tempts me here.

Nathan Aspinall vs Kyle Anderson

The second match of the night sees Nathan Aspinall taking on Kyle Anderson in a match in the bottom quarter of the draw which has opened right up. This tournament is going to change the life of someone in that section and both these men will be well aware of that.

I’ve enjoyed Aspinall in this tournament. He has played tough but he has played with quality and looks full of confidence despite his relative inexperience on the big stage. Anderson came through after a scare against Noel Malicdem in the previous round and will be expected to win here and that can bring its own pressure.

I’m not surprised Aspinall is the outsider here but I am surprised he’s as big as 6/4. I think this will be quite an even contest but if it gets close then I fancy the Englishman to be the more reliable on the doubles and cause the upset in this one. I’ll play the youngster here.

Rob Cross vs Cristo Reyes

The final match of the night sees Rob Cross continuing the defence of his title a full 10 days after he last graced the Alexandra Palace stage. He takes on the Spanish number one Cristo Reyes for a place in the last 16 of the event.

All eyes will naturally be on Cross in this match. That would be the case anyway as the defending champion but having not played for so long there will be scrutiny on how he starts and whether he can show the form that took care of Jeffrey de Zwaan on the opening night. Reyes is a dangerous opponent but whether he can pull of a shock of this size over this format I’m not sure. Ultimately there are too many questions to answer here so I won’t try. I’ll just watch and see what happens.
