2019 Royal London One Day Cup – Friday 26th April Matches Betting Preview

The Royal London One Day Cup continues on Friday with six more matches as we reach the halfway mark in the group stage for most of the counties on show over the course of the day. With matches starting to run out these look to have plenty of significance to them.

The best news of all about these matches is that one of them is on the TV for us to enjoy and just looking through them, there are a number of counties at home who offer a live stream to allow us to keep tabs on the other matches.

North Group

There are four matches in the North Group on Friday with one of them coming from Northampton as Northants look to get in the qualification mix when they play host to Worcestershire. Nottinghamshire will be looking to remain top of the table when they host Leicestershire who have to win to keep their qualifying hopes realistic while Warwickshire, in a similar position, host Durham who will put one foot towards the knockout stages with a win. The other match in the group comes from Headingley where Yorkshire take on Derbyshire in a match between two sides who’ve gone fairly well so far.

South Group

There are two matches in the South Group on Friday with the two sides still carrying 100% records being on show, although not against each other. The TV match comes from this group and sees Somerset hosting Essex in what looks like a juicy clash while Hampshire welcome Glamorgan to the Ageas Bowl in the other contest as they continue their perfect title defence thus far.

Betting

I’ll go with three bets over the course of Friday. Away from the TV cameras I like Durham to turn over Warwickshire. It hasn’t been the best start to the campaign for the Bears and given the amount of players they are missing here I’m not convinced it is going to get a lot better for them here. Durham lost to Worcestershire in a rain affected match last time out but prior to that they were perfect from their two matches. Cameron Bancroft is proving to be an inspirational leader who is in good form. I always think confidence and form is a big thing in this competition. It is Durham who has it here.

In the TV game I like the performance of Craig Overton. The England international has made a wonderful start to the season especially in this competition where he already has nine wickets to his name and has plundered 66* and 41* with the bat as well so it is a surprise that his performance is as low as 40.5 for this one. Overton is good quality with the ball and as I’ve highlighted he can more than hold the bat. I expect him to cover this total.

Lewis Gregory has already made two half centuries in this competition so he has to be a crazy price to top score at 16/1. We’ve seen in the last season or two that this ground isn’t big enough for him and given that he bats at six you would expect him to get in with some decent time to bat. Gregory made 51 in the opening game against Kent and 50 against Sussex last time out. It will not take a whole lot for him to be a huge runner in this market at 16/1.
