2019 Royal London One Day Cup – Sunday 28th April Matches Betting Preview

There is another bunch of matches in the Royal London One Day Cup on Sunday and with the competition heading into the second half of the group phase, every match is beginning to count for those who can still achieve good things this season.

Places in the knockout stages are beginning to come to the fore and those teams on the fringes of them will be eager to win while there are one or two who need to launch a burst of consistency to get themselves in the mix. We have one TV match on Sunday and a number of live streams for the other.

North Group

The televised action comes from the North Group where Worcestershire host Warwickshire in a clash between a team who have every chance of progressing this term and one whose race is run in the event. Elsewhere the leaders of the North, Nottinghamshire, look to maintain their perfect start to the campaign when they take on Yorkshire at Trent Bridge where a huge crowd is expected. Lancashire and Leicestershire need to get a run of form going when they meet at Old Trafford while Durham take on Derbyshire at the Riverside where the winners are likely to get control of third place.

South Group

There are only three matches in the South Group but they see the two teams with 100% records for the campaign in action in among them. Somerset currently lead the way on net run rate and they head to Bristol to face a tricky test against a Gloucestershire side who have two wins to their name. Hampshire in second head to Chelmsford to take on an Essex side who really need to win. The other match in the group sees two of the bottom three in the table doing battle as Glamorgan host Surrey down in Cardiff.

Betting

I’ll just go with a couple of bets in this set of matches. I often look to attack the TV matches a little more but there isn’t too much value in any of the side markets and I’m expecting a one-sided affair so it is Worcestershire to beat Warwickshire for me on Sunday. Warwickshire look to have nothing in them. Their batting is top three heavy and none of them are really performing and they are flattering to deceive with the ball. The whole Worcestershire batting line up has runs in them and they are very astute operators on their own patch. Home win for me here.

We saw on Friday just how poor Essex can be and they’ve not had a huge amount of time to sort things out ahead of hosting Hampshire on Sunday. Hampshire are flying right now and their key performers are all playing good cricket and contributing to their success, which is exactly what a team wants at this stage of the campaign. Essex don’t look good enough with the ball to me and with Hampshire having decent variety in their attack they can get the job done here.
