2019 Specsavers County Championship – Sunday 16th June Matches Betting Preview

Another round of matches in the Specsavers County Championship get underway on Sunday when the first two fixtures of the week get on their way. We reach the halfway mark of the campaign for some sides this week so wins take on extra significance from here on in.

We have a match from each division of the competition getting going on Sunday and with all the usual ways of keeping up to date with them there is no reason not to stay on top of all the action throughout.

Essex vs Hampshire

The match from Division One on Sunday is a repeat of the first game of the season as Essex host Hampshire at Chelmsford. Hampshire were very comfortable winners at the Ageas Bowl and will be eager to pick up another success here to hang to the coattails of Somerset.

Essex are in mid-table limbo at the minute so need a run of results in order to have a good go at defending their title but you would think they are going to fall short of that given how well Somerset are going. Hampshire are in excellent touch at the present time though and they have the best bowling attack in the country, if not second behind Somerset. They will also have the option to bowl first if they want to which could be the best way of getting Alastair Cook out so I’m with Hampshire to do the double over Essex in this one.

Middlesex vs Glamorgan

The other match to begin on Sunday does so at Radlett where Middlesex will look to launch a run of form which will push them into the promotion race when they take on a Glamorgan side who have been much more competitive than they were expected to be this season.

Middlesex are just flattering to deceive at the minute and this is where things get tricky for them with them playing at various outgrounds while the World Cup takes in Lord’s for the next month or so. Glamorgan probably can’t quite be trusted yet but they certainly shouldn’t be written off quickly so this one is an easy one to swerve especially given recent weather.
