2019 Vitality Blast – Monday 26th August Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The Vitality Blast continues on what is a scorching Bank Holiday Monday in the UK with two more matches, one in each group, games that can see both leaders secure top spot in their respective groups.

Both teams have matches that they should be capable of winning so this could be a pivotal day in the tournament. Sadly even though the Test match is over neither of these matches has TV coverage but they will have live streams via the home county websites.

Lancashire vs Derbyshire

The match from the North Group sees Lancashire hosting Derbyshire in a big match for both sides. Lancashire are guaranteed a quarter final spot anyway but they will be assured of topping the group with a win. This is Derbyshire’s final group match so they need to win or they will have an anxious few days waiting for results to go their way.

Lancashire have only lost one match in this tournament so far and look to be getting better as the competition goes on but to be fair to Derbyshire they head to Old Trafford in good form having won four of their last five matches, the latter two by an emphatic nine wickets so they will believe they are a real chance here.

I expect Lancashire to win this but Derbyshire are dangerous enough to make me swerve the match outcome but I’m amazed the sixes line here is only 7.5. There were 23 sixes when Lancashire played Worcestershire here on Sunday and I can’t believe they’ll play on a different pitch less than 24hrs later. Both these teams are laced with hitters so I’m happy to back this to be covered with a fair bit of ease.

Glamorgan vs Sussex

The South Group match sees the side who are bottom in the table and pretty much sacking this off now in Glamorgan hosting a Sussex side who will be all out to win here and guarantee themselves top spot in the group.

I don’t see anything but a Sussex win here but as I’ve said a couple of times before the likes of Colin Ingram and Shaun Marsh as well as a couple of others offer up enough danger that if one of them has a day out we could be sweating over a twos on shot if we take Sussex. That’s not really my game so while I expect Sussex to win this match I’ll let them do so assuming they are good enough to.
