2020-21 Premier League – Monday 28th December Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

Another set of matches in the Premier League gets underway on Monday when three fixtures take place to continue the Christmas action in the top flight, on a day where we get to see five of the top eight in action.

The matches all have their own kick off slot and come one after another so there is plenty of reason to kick back and watch wall to wall football for another seven hours or so after two days of doing exactly the same over the weekend!

Where to watch

All three matches are live on the Amazon Prime Video streaming service with the build up to the first one beginning at 2pm. The matches kick off at 3pm, 5.30pm and 8pm.

Fixtures

Crystal Palace vs Leicester City (15.00)

Chelsea vs Aston Villa (17.30)

Everton vs Manchester City (20.00)

Preview

We get underway at Selhurst Park where a suddenly very leaky Crystal Palace side play host to a Leicester City team who spent Christmas in second place in the table but dropped down to third on Boxing Day. A win here will move them up to second for a few hours. When they are done Chelsea will look to arrest their poor run of form when they take on an Aston Villa team who will be buoyed by their win over Palace on Boxing Day and who could end the day in third place in the table if they win and other results go their way.

The action concludes at Goodison Park where Everton will be looking to build on a run of four successive wins in the Premier League when they host a Manchester City side who are not being helped by injuries but who need to click into gear pretty soon if they are going to launch anything resembling a Premier League title charge. Everton will go level with their Merseyside rivals Liverpool if they can find the three points here.

Betting

I’ll go with a couple of bets here with the first of them being on Leicester City to feast on a Crystal Palace defence which has shipped 10 goals in its last two outings and which now comes up against one of the best attackers in the Premier League in Jamie Vardy. Leicester haven’t been as consistent or as convincing as I would like over the course of the season but generally their troubles come at home at the King Power Stadium. On their travels the only points they have dropped were at Anfield where everyone drops points. They have already been to Manchester City, Arsenal, Leeds and Tottenham and won and I expect them to add Crystal Palace to that list.

Once they are done I like the idea of there being goals at Stamford Bridge where Chelsea really need to beat Aston Villa but it won’t be easy because like Leicester, the Villans have been very good on their travels this term. The only points Villa have dropped in six away games was at West Ham where they were beaten by VAR as much as West Ham that night. Only Liverpool have been to the Bridge and won this season though and generally matches there have been high scoring and I expect that trend to continue in this one. Both teams will feel comfortable in this match and I think the over 3 line will get covered here.

Tips

Back Leicester City to beat Crystal Palace for a 3/10 stake at 2.10 with William Hill
