The Premier League weekend continues on Saturday where we have just three matches rather than the four we have become accustomed to seeing this term. After the battle to beat the drop took the focus on Friday evening, it is the race for the top four in the spotlight on Saturday.
As ever though, whether there are three matches on the card or the usual four, they are all on TV via the broadcasters for the division which means that while we wait for the Grand National to begin we can sit back and enjoy the football action unfold!
Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (UK kick off and TV in brackets)
Manchester City vs Leeds United (12.30 – BT Sport 1)
Liverpool vs Aston Villa (15.00 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)
Crystal Palace vs Chelsea (17.30 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

Potentially one of the more entertaining matches of the season gets us underway on Saturday when Manchester City take on a Leeds United side who have shown us throughout the season that they are not going to change their style for nobody not even the bigger sides on the road this season. City look to be cruising towards the Premier League title and are fizzing nicely right now so this should be a cracking watch!
When they are done it is all about the race for the top four where Liverpool will be looking to draw first blood when they go in search of revenge for a defeat which did plenty of damage to them earlier in the season against Aston Villa. I doubt Villa will win 7-2 again but it will be interesting to see what does unfold there. We end with a London derby as Crystal Palace host a Chelsea team who were embarrassed by West Brom last week and need to bounce back here.
Betting
I’ll go with the one bet on Saturday where Liverpool look mighty short to me for a number of reasons. The first one being that Aston Villa have already mullered them this season and that was a Liverpool side that did have Virgil van Dijk in it that evening. Another reason why they look short is because Liverpool have lost their last six matches at Anfield in the Premier League and are actually without a win in eight which includes fixtures against West Brom, Fulham, Brighton and Burnley.
The other thing to factor into the equation is that Liverpool have a massive Champions League match in midweek so one or two star players might be managed in order to peak for that so Villa might not even be getting the best current version of Liverpool. It isn’t ideal that Villa remain without Jack Grealish but they did work out how to win without him last week and they look setup to be very dangerous on the counter here. I’m not sure Villa will win the game but I certainly think they can draw it, or if they do go down do so narrowly so given that we get our money back on the -1 Asian line if Liverpool only win by a goal, but win on a draw or Villa win, I’m happy to jump on that at just below evens.
