Preview

The day begins with the champions elect Manchester City looking to move to the verge of the Premier League title when they make the trip to the capital to take on a Crystal Palace side who aren’t really playing for a whole lot. Brighton and Hove Albion will then look to put 10 points between themselves and the relegation zone for a few hours when they host a Leeds United side who are running the clock down on an excellent first season back in the top flight.

The one match on the day where both sides are playing for something is the third game where two London sides play out a local derby as Chelsea look to continue their push for a top four finish when they host rivals Fulham at Stamford Bridge. Fulham are running out of time in their bid to beat the drop so this is a huge match for them as well. The action concludes at Goodison Park where Everton have to beat Aston Villa if they want to be competing in Europe next season.

Betting

I’ll go with one bet which comes in the last match of the day where I like both teams to score in the match between Everton and Aston Villa, one which is big for the hosts but I suspect the visitors will be out to get something from the game as well because they won’t want what was a bright season at one stage to just fall away completely in the end. Although the Villa results have dropped off in recent times their performances have generally been good.

The one thing which has been apparent in recent times is that Villa have seen their clean sheets dry up. They have failed to keep one in their last six matches and by and large visiting sides have a good record of scoring at Goodison Park this season so there is every reason to believe that there will be enough action at both ends of the pitch for each time to find the back of the net. There is the extra nuance on this match if Ollie Watkins and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are competing for the same Euro 2020 spot. Both teams can find the back of the net here.
