2020-21 Premier League – Saturday 24th October Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The Premier League weekend action continues on Saturday with another four fixtures as the table begins to take shape and we get a clearer picture of who might be where and battling for what as we delve deeper into the season.

Once again all four matches have their own time slot and they are all live on TV for us in the UK although you’ll have to shell out £14.95 for two of them which is less than ideal. There are some good games on show though.

Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (UK kick off and TV in brackets)

West Ham United v Manchester City (12.30 – BT Sport 1)

Fulham v Crystal Palace (15.00 – BT Sport Box Office)

Manchester United v Chelsea (17.30 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

Liverpool v Sheffield United (20.00 – Sky Sports Box Office)

Preview

The start of the day the focus will be on London where West Ham United are the hosts of the former champions Manchester City. Both teams head into this match in decent enough form and this is an intriguing opener to the day. When they are done two more London sides will battle it out in the latest London derby of the campaign when Fulham look for their first win back in the Premier League as they welcome former manager Roy Hodgson and his Crystal Palace team to Craven Cottage.

The match of the day comes along in the third game of the afternoon when two big six sides who will be looking for more than just the top four with the injuries that Liverpool suddenly have collide at Old Trafford as Manchester United host Chelsea in what is always a tasty contest. The final match of a busy day of action comes from Anfield where the champions Liverpool will look to continue to prove that they can cope without Virgil van Dijk. They take on a Sheffield United team who badly need a win.

Betting

The trend of the Premier League season so far is plenty of goals and yet nobody can explain quite why that is and it seems nobody is in a position to stop it. I don’t think that is going to change in the match between Manchester United and Chelsea where both sides look so much better in the attacking department than they do in the defensive one and it is likely to take something special to stop the goals from flowing at Old Trafford when these heavyweight sides meet.

Chelsea’s defence is absolutely terrible and United should have the pace and quality to expose it but it would be a major surprise if United are able to keep Timo Werner and whoever else supports him in the attacking areas quiet. There should be an element of both teams looking to win this game about it and with that in mind the almost even money on over 3 goals looks a good bet to me, more so when you consider the only game of the nine these two have been involved in during the Premier League this season that hasn’t had at least four goals was when Chelsea took on Liverpool and were reduced to 10 men. The over looks good here.
