2020-21 Premier League – Sunday 14th February Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

After an excellent and potentially defining day in the Premier League on Saturday, the competition continues with four more matches over what could be an equally as interesting and exciting Sunday where no love will be lost on the pitch despite it being Valentine’s Day.

As with the action on Saturday, the four matches come one after the other throughout the day and they are all being shown live on the various broadcasters that cover the Premier League in the UK, so there is no reason not to enjoy what should be a cracking day.

Sunday’s fixtures are as follows: (UK kick off and TV in brackets)

Southampton vs Wolverhampton Wanderers (12.00 – Amazon Prime Video)

West Bromwich Albion vs Manchester United (14.00 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

Preview

The action gets underway with two sides that are meeting for the second time in a matter of days as Southampton host Wolverhampton Wanderers. The two sides met at Molineux in the FA Cup on Thursday evening and now they clash at St Mary’s for three Premier League points. We then head to the midlands where West Bromwich Albion go in search of a much needed win when they host Manchester United who have to keep winning if they are going to keep any heat on Manchester City in what is left of the title race.

The third match of the day might be the best one to watch as it contains a Leeds United side who everyone seems to enjoy watching. They head to The Emirates to face Arsenal in a repeat of an FA Cup tie from last season which was incredibly entertaining. When they are done the action resumes at Goodison Park where Everton will look to build on their fine FA Cup win on Wednesday night when they host a Fulham team whose need for a win is getting pretty desperate now.

Betting

There are three bets I like over the course of Sunday’s action with the first of them coming in the very first match of the day. That sees Southampton beating Wolverhampton Wanderers. Much has been made of the slump in form of Southampton with five successive defeats and that is fair enough but injuries and some weird stuff has contributed to a lot of that. What isn’t being mentioned is that Wolves only have one win in their last 10 games and that was against Arsenal in a match where they were going absolutely nowhere until the referee got involved in the contest. Ultimately though, whichever way you look at this there has been a toothless look about Wolves since Raul Jimenez got injured. Southampton haven’t had that issue. They have been leaking like a sieve but with defenders coming back I expect the Saints to return to form here.

I’m not a big fan of taking big handicaps but I can’t ignore the -1.5 for Manchester United against West Bromwich Albion. Under Sam Allardyce, West Brom have been pathetic especially on their patch. The only point they have picked up in five games under him came against Fulham and in those matches they have shipped 19 goals. When you consider that nobody in the league have scored more away goals than Manchester United this has the potential to be an absolute bloodbath if United are on it from the off rather than only playing the second 45 minutes. However long United play for the gulf in class should be prominent both during that time and on the end scoreline.

The last bet I like is for Fulham to avoid defeat at Goodison Park when they take on Everton. I’ve mentioned a couple of times this season that Everton aren’t always the most convincing team at home and a recent defeat to Newcastle highlighted that perfectly and with no Dominic Calvert-Lewin to lead the line in this match I worry for them. I also have concerns given that they went toe to toe with Spurs for two hours the other night. Fulham have gone 12 games without a win which is obviously a concern but they haven’t lost too many in that run and when they have they have been narrow defeats and in a couple of cases undeserved ones. When these two met earlier in the season Everton won 3-2 but they were hanging on for dear life by the end. Fulham have tightened up since then and Calvert-Lewin played a big role in the game which he won’t be doing here. Everton just look a bit short to me here.
