2020-21 Premier League – Sunday 27th September Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The Premier League weekend continues with another bumper day of action on Sunday as four more matches take place one after the other on what looks like being more than just your average Super Sunday given the quality of some of the sides involved.

Once again all four matches are live on TV for us to enjoy in the UK and with four of the top seven from last season on show as well as a couple of other lively teams we should see the recent entertainment continue in spades here.

Sunday’s fixtures are as follows: (UK kick off and TV in brackets)

Sheffield United vs Leeds United (12.00 – BT Sport 1)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Newcastle United (14.00 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

Manchester City vs Leicester City (16.30 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

West Ham United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers (19.00 – BT Sport 1)

The action begins with what would normally have been a feisty Yorkshire derby but in these dulled down circumstances with the absence of fans and things it might not be quite so passionate when Sheffield United go in search of their first points when they take on a Leeds United team who have already impressed many on their return to the Premier League. Once that is done the action heads down to London where Tottenham Hotspur will look to back up their fine win at Southampton last week when they take on Newcastle United who have made an inconsistent beginning to their campaign.

The big match of the day is the third one of the four when an injury ravaged Manchester City side will be out to avoid dropping early points when they play host to a Leicester City team who are determined to continue to show that the way last season ended isn’t what they are about. If they can get a result away to one of the big two that would certainly assist that claim. The action concludes back in the capital where a troubled West Ham United team look to get off the mark for the season against a Wolverhampton Wanderers who offered up more than they got against Manchester City on Monday night.

Betting

I’ll go with just the one bet over the course of the day on Sunday and we have to wait until the final match of the marathon for it to arrive where I like Wolverhampton Wanderers to beat West Ham United and pile the latter into more misery. There is a lot of doom and gloom around the London Stadium at the minute, not helped by one of the co-owners being on the radio earlier in the week basically saying that they can’t afford any of the new signings that they want.

These things get through to the dressing room and while West Ham offered up a creditable showing against Arsenal last weekend they were terrible against Newcastle the week before. Wolverhampton Wanderers have looked very good so far this season. They cruised to victory against Sheffield United and might well have taken something out of their clash against Manchester City on Monday night had they taken their chances. Wolves have a good recent record against West Ham. Since the Molineux men came back into the Premier League they have won all four matches against the Hammers and haven’t conceded a single goal in that time. I’m not sure either trend ends here but with the draw cover that is always welcomed in these uncertain times, Wolves look a solid play here.
