2020-21 Premier League – Thursday 4th March Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The midweek action in the Premier League concludes on Thursday evening when another three matches take place, with the race for the top four and the battle to avoid the drop very much the centre of attention.

Once again all three matches are live on TV in the UK through the respective broadcasters for the competition but as with Wednesday there are two matches that kick off at the same time so you’ll need two devices to follow everything.

Fulham vs Tottenham Hotspur (18.00 – BT Sport 1)

The first of the big matches towards the bottom of the table is a London derby as Fulham look to continue their battle to stay up when they host a Tottenham Hotspur side who could revive their hopes of a top four finish with a win here.

Fulham have the incentive of knowing that for the first time this season they will move out of the relegation zone if they can win this match. That won’t be easy but they are in good form, are proving hard to beat and will fancy their chances here. Tottenham come into this match off the back of thrashing Burnley at the weekend though and that win might just spark them into life this season. My instinct tells me that Fulham will get something from this match but I’m a bit reluctant to take on Spurs after that win on Sunday.

West Bromwich Albion vs Everton (18.00 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

The other match that involves the relegation zone and the top four race comes from The Hawthorns as West Bromwich Albion look to build on a rare win at the weekend when they host an Everton side who themselves go into this match off the back of a win.

Everton go into this match in seventh place in the table but a win here will move them up to fourth and depending on the result of the other game they could stay there too so they have all the incentive they need to win here. Even after that win at the weekend West Brom are nine points adrift of safety which is effectively 10 because their goal difference is absolutely terrible. For all that West Brom won that match, they were outplayed from start to finish but Brighton just couldn’t score.

I’ve highlighted Everton and their home struggles over the last few weeks but away from home they have been exemplary in recent times, winning six and drawing the other two of their last eight. That includes winning at Liverpool, Leeds and Leicester as well as a draw at Manchester United. West Brom have been terrible at home under Allardyce and that win over Brighton flatters them enormously. Everton will have to work hard to win this but they are a perfectly acceptable price given the weaknesses of West Brom.

Liverpool vs Chelsea (20.15 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

The big match of the week is the last game of it as the current champions Liverpool host Chelsea in what is a key clash in the race for the top four. If there is a winner of this match whoever it is will end the night in fourth spot so there is plenty of incentive for both teams to deliver the goods here.

Chelsea still haven’t lost under Thomas Tuchel but they have been held in their last two matches by Southampton and Manchester United so would like to win this game but avoiding defeat to a rival might be their primary aim. Liverpool snapped a run of four successive league defeats when they won at the weekend but it will take more than a win at rock bottom Sheffield United to convince me that they are back to anything close to what we would expect them to be.

Taking Liverpool on at Anfield might have suddenly become a winning formula but long-term it is anything but. If I was going to bet on this match I’d probably play the under as most of these top six matches that haven’t involved Manchester City have been bang ordinary affairs this season. That means I’d need to put faith in this wobbly Liverpool defence though and I don’t really want to be doing that either so I’ll gladly sit this one out.
