2020-21 Premier League – Tuesday 19th January Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The fixtures keep on coming in the Premier League with another two taking place on Tuesday evening as both ends of the table come into the spotlight once again on a night where the leadership could switch hands once again.

As we know by now all the matches in the Premier League are being shown live through their various broadcasters so on a dank and miserable Tuesday evening in the UK there is no reason not to sit back and watch the action unfold!

West Ham United vs West Bromwich Albion (18.00 – BT Sport 1)

The action begins at the London Stadium where West Ham United welcome their former manager Sam Allardyce and his West Bromwich Albion side to the capital in a match which is clearly much more important for the visitors than the hosts.

To be fair to West Ham, if they win this match they can move closer to the European positions although I’m not sure they are quite at that level long-term just yet. West Brom go into this one in search of successive wins for the first time this season after their fine win at rivals Wolves at the weekend but I’m not sure that is as good a win as it might look because Wolves look in a bit of a rut at the minute. That isn’t the case with the Hammers who are unbeaten in four and haven’t conceded in their last three but they haven’t been quite as convincing as I would have liked them to be in their latest two wins so although I think they will have enough to win the match I’m not that keen on backing them at a tight price.

Leicester City vs Chelsea (20.15 – Sky Sports Man Event & Sky Premier League)

The pick of the two matches both from an aesthetic point of view and an importance one is the second game of the evening where Leicester City will hit the top of the table for 24 hours or so if they can find a win when they host Chelsea at the King Power Stadium.

Chelsea have faded out of immediate title contention despite their win at Fulham at the weekend and really need to start putting results together if they are going to cling onto any title ambitions they might have. Even the top four will be getting away from them if they lose this game. I think we are still at the stage where this is a free hit for Leicester in terms of their title expectations but win this and they would become major players in that quest so it is a big game for both sides and should be a great game to watch.

I’m surprised Leicester City are the outsiders in this match. I accept with just four home wins all season their home form is not the best but I suspect that is an anomaly which may well rectify itself over the second half of the season. Even then Chelsea haven’t beaten a side outside the bottom six on their travels this season and have failed to win at the likes of West Brom and Arsenal, matches they were warm favourites in. Chelsea have only won two of their last seven and there was nothing convincing about either. As players begin to come back from injury Leicester are starting to look very good. They have only lost one of their last eight and if there is a winner here I fancy it to be the Foxes.
