2020-21 Sky Bet Championship – Sunday 25th April Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

There are two matches in the Sky Bet Championship on Sunday afternoon and although the top two places were secured on Saturday, there is one spot in the play-offs left to be taken and it could be secured here.

Reading and Swansea are the two remaining sides left in the race for that sixth spot and they meet in front of the TV cameras on Sunday. The other match is of more interest to me and if, like me you want to watch it, you can do so on the streaming service the clubs offer.

Reading vs Swansea City (12.00 – Sky Main Event & Sky Football)

The big match on Sunday is a must win encounter for Reading as they host Swansea City at the Madejski Stadium knowing they must win their last three and Swansea lose their last three if the Royals are to claim the play-off spot which looked automatic after the way they started the season.

It has to be said that neither of these sides are in great form. Reading go into this match off the back of one win in their last eight while Swansea have lost five of their last eight. That has seen Reading go from play-off certainties to pretty much being guaranteed to miss out while Swansea have seen their strong automatic promotion bid fall away completely and if they are going to return to the Premier League they will need to navigate the play-offs after failing in the semi-final of them last season. This isn’t a match to bet on for me but if I was betting, Reading looked a tired outfit to me when I watched them on Wednesday night and Swansea are generally solid on their travels but nothing stands out enough for me to get involved here.

Bristol City vs Luton Town (13.00)

The match away from the TV camera comes from Ashton Gate where Bristol City host Luton Town in a clash between two teams who are safely locked in mid-table and aren’t going up or down this season, much to the credit of the latter in particular.

If fans were in the stadium you would hope that both teams would open up and have a right good go with not a lot on it but I’m not expecting that here. One of the reasons why I’m not expecting it is because Luton are using these remaining matches to monitor their progress, which will be fantastic whatever happened in the next two weeks when you consider where they have come from. They look to have a good chance of winning this one too when you think Bristol City have won just one of their last 10 matches which was against Birmingham when they were shockingly bad rather than the outfit they currently are under Lee Bowyer.

Luton were deserved winners at home in the reverse meeting and aren’t in bad nick at the minute with two wins and a draw from their last three. They have only given up one shot on target in their last two matches, both of which were against sides in the top seven in the table. Overall Luton have won four of their last seven and are finishing the season with a flourish. The opposite can be said of Bristol City so with a bit of draw cover thrown in I’ll take the Hatters in this one.
