Preview

We have to wait for the final match of the night for the TV game to come around and that sees the second placed AFC Bournemouth hosting a Nottingham Forest team who haven’t really picked up as much as people expected them to do when Chris Hughton took over the ranks. Norwich City hit the front in the Championship table at the weekend and they’ll be looking to stay there when they face a trip to take on a Stoke City side who will actually go level on points with the Canaries should they win the match.

There are five other matches on show on Tuesday evening. Luton Town will look to continue their solid start to the season when they host Birmingham City while QPR and Rotherham United meet at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium in a match both teams might feel they can win. Wycombe Wanderers will look to come out of the bottom three when they host Huddersfield Town. The other two matches sees Barnsley welcoming Brentford to Oakwell and a Lancashire derby between Preston North End and Blackburn Rovers.

Betting

I’ll go with the one bet over the course of the evening on Tuesday and it actually comes in the TV game later in the night when AFC Bournemouth host Nottingham Forest in a match I expect the home side to come out on top in. Clearly Bournemouth are the better of the two teams. We didn’t need the league table to tell us that but it emphatically does. They have kept a lot of their squad from last season and as a result they have only lost once all season.

Forest just can’t seem to pick up wins on the road, which is actually a stark contrast to last season when they had one of the best away records in the entire division. They have only won once away this term which was in Chris Hughton’s first game in charge at Blackburn when they won late on. Since then they have been to Luton, Middlesbrough and Barnsley and failed to win. Bournemouth looked like they clicked into gear in that second half against Reading on Saturday and can follow that up with another win here.
