2020-21 Sky Bet Championship – Tuesday 9th March Matches Tips and Betting Preview

Four teams will look to catch up with the schedule in the Sky Bet Championship on Tuesday evening on a night where the picture might become a little clearer at the top and the bottom of the second tier table.

Unfortunately with the two matches that have survived the Covid-19 scare in the division being rearranged ones, there is no TV coverage of either of them so we’ll be reduced to the social feeds and things to stay in touch with the action.

Blackburn Rovers vs Swansea City (18.00)

The first match to kick off on Tuesday night sees a Swansea City side who will be looking to move into the automatic promotion places when they made the trip north to take on Blackburn Rovers who are out to build on their win on Saturday.

Blackburn have underachieved in recent times but knocked off an in form Millwall side at the weekend and if they can follow that up with another win here they will at least set themselves up for a good end to the campaign. Swansea City will move up to second place in the table if they can come away from Ewood Park with a win and they would still have a game in hand of the teams around them as they bid to consolidate their position in the race to the Premier League. If you pushed me I would back Swansea to win this but I think it is a tough match for both of them so I’ll sit this one out.

Queens Park Rangers vs Wycombe Wanderers (19.00)

The second match of the night is one which is pretty big at the bottom end of the table where Wycombe Wanderers will be looking to give themselves a chance of the great escape when they make the short trip into the capital to take on QPR.

Wycombe go into the night 12 points adrift of safety and probably in need of a miracle to be a Championship side next season even if they are able to pull off an upset here. QPR are a team who have moved themselves away from danger over recent weeks having won seven of the 11 matches they have played in 2021. The addition of Charlie Austin has been a major factor in that and they look like worthy favourites against a side who have lost their last three without scoring.

I’m not sure I want to be backing QPR at odds on but they are the team I would rather be on. I want a bit of value on them though and I think that can come in the home side winning to nil. QPR have won 11 matches in the Championship this term and six of them have been without conceding. On the flip side of that Wycombe have lost 21 games this term and haven’t scored in 13 of them. Eight of those have been on their travels so when Wycombe are bad away from home they are often found wanting. I’ll take my chances that should QPR win this match they do so without conceding.
