The international break ends in Europe on Wednesday when the final group matches in the UEFA Nations League are played out on a bumper day of action around the continent with plenty at stake in a number of matches.
All of the Home Nations are back in action over the course of three kick off times on Wednesday, a day where semi-final places, promotion and relegation will be very much in the spotlight over the course of it.
League A
There are two groups on show in the top league on Wednesday and there is a lot at stake. In Group 1 there is a three-way shootout for the semi-final spot. Italy are in control of their own destiny and if they win away to Bosnia-Herzegovina then they will claim their place in the last four. Anything else will see the winner of the match between Poland and the Netherlands making it through. Bosnia knows whatever happens they will be leaving the top group after this match as they are already relegated.
In Group 2 there is a straight shootout for the semi-final spot in Leuven when the current leaders Belgium only need to avoid defeat to Denmark to secure their place in the last four next year. If Denmark win the match they will deny them and take the place themselves. The other match comes from Wembley Stadium where England host Iceland in a dead rubber with the Scandinavians already relegated and England no longer able to win the group.
League B
We have a full set of matches to enjoy over the course of Wednesday in the second league with promotion and relegation very much on the line. In Group 1 Northern Ireland know they must beat Romania well if they are going to avoid relegation while in the other match Austria need just a draw to secure promotion when they host a Norway side who need a big win to deny them. Scotland head off to Israel on Wednesday evening knowing that if they win they will be promoted to League 1. If they slip up then the Czech Republic can overtake them if they beat a Slovakia side who need a win themselves to avoid relegation.
Russia and Hungary would be looking for promotion out of Group 3. Russia head to a Serbia side who are staring relegation in the face having not won a match in this group yet. If Russia slip up Hungary will go up if they can get a result when they host Turkey. Group 4 is much simpler to work out. The winner of the match at Cardiff between Wales and Finland will be promoted while the loser of the game between the Republic of Ireland and Bulgaria will be relegated.

League C
The remainder of the action comes over in League C where there are three groups in play. The action begins early in Group 4 where the winners of the match between Albania and Belarus will be promoted while whoever loses the clash between Kazakhstan and Lithuania will be involved in the relegation picture.
Group 2 then sorts itself out when North Macedonia look to round off a perfect international break when they head to Armenia knowing they only need to avoid defeat to put promotion alongside their Euro 2020 qualifying result last week. The other match in the group is a dead rubber between Georgia and Estonia. The last group to finish is Group 3 where we have another straight shootout between Greece and Slovenia with the visitors just needing to avoid defeat. Whoever loses the other match between Kosovo and Moldova enter the relegation shake up.
Betting
I’ll finish off the group stages of this tournament with just the one bet which comes down in League C where I think Greece can take advantage of home comforts to turn the tides on Slovenia and secure promotion up to League B. Had it not been for a last gasp winner on Sunday night, Slovenia would be going into this match behind their opponents in the group table but I still expect the tables to be overturned here.
Greece haven’t done a whole lot wrong in recent times, particularly in their competitive matches, and there is a feeling that they still operate at a level that is above this one. Slovenia have gone well enough themselves over this period but there were signs at the weekend that the pressure and the scrutiny might just be getting to them. Greece are in the position of knowing they have to win here and that clarity can be the difference here.
