The final matches in Group B of the Copa America will be played out on Sunday evening when we find out which of the five sides will be eliminated from the competition on a night where Brazil continue their title defence.
Brazil are actually already through to the quarter finals as the group winners but who joins them in the next stage will be determined on Sunday night. Colombia are through and then it is two from Peru, Ecuador and Venezuela.
Brazil vs Ecuador (22.00)
The defending champions Brazil will round off their group phase with a clash against an Ecuador side who have everything to play for because they are not yet through to the knockout stage of the competition and need to win to guarantee their place in the quarter finals.
Brazil have won their opening three matches and although they were behind for much of the match against Colombia you did sense it was a case of when they would score and whether they would do it early enough to win the game. They did and went on to win and whatever happens here will win the group. That makes it a much more important match for Ecuador who will be ruing the fact they conceded late on to Venezuela two matches ago and then surrendered a 2-0 lead against Peru last time out. They really need something from this match but the worst thing they can do is go for it and get battered as they could go out on goal difference then. There might be a way in on Ecuador when the teams are announced because you would think Brazil will make changes but I can’t back a side who might well go through if they avoid being tonked.

Venezuela vs Peru (22.00)
The same which has everything on it comes in the other game where Venezuela will look to move above either their opponents Peru or Ecuador by winning the match. It might be that a draw suits Venezuela and it might be that Peru qualify whatever happens here if Ecuador don’t beat Brazil.
The one thing we do know about this match is the first goal is going to have a dramatic impact on it because whoever concedes it might have to score to have any chance of remaining in the competition. Peru might be through with a defeat but they would run into Argentina in the quarter final and I would imagine they would be quite keen to avoid that so I think over 2 goals could be a big price here. Venezuela have scored twice against Ecuador in their previous match so they are coming to terms with the fact they are without their better attackers due to the Covid-19 issues on the eve of the tournament. Peru have goals in them but can give up opportunities at the back so over 2 goals feels a big price here.
