2021 Vitality Blast – Tuesday 15th June Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The Vitality Blast continues once again on Tuesday evening when another bunch of matches are played out across both the groups as we head towards completing the opening quarter of the campaign. The weather is set fair once again so we should be in for a decent evening of cricket.

Unfortunately, despite there being no international cricket on Tuesday, there is no televised action over the course of the evening either which means that we are once again reliant on the county streams to show the matches.

North Group

We have a full set of matches in the North Group on Tuesday evening and with the leaders Worcestershire not in action the other eight sides have the chance to close in on them and perhaps overtake them. Durham are the only team left in the group that has a perfect record and they will look to hit the front in the group when they go up against the defending champions Nottinghamshire. Birmingham Bears can also move above Worcestershire with a win and they head to Northamptonshire who have lost their opening two matches. The other two matches in the section sees Yorkshire hosting Leicestershire at Headingley while Lancashire head to Derbyshire looking to replicate the win they had against them on the opening day of the competition.

South Group

Three matches take place in the South Group after one of them was switched to the Monday night. Surrey hit top spot with a win on that occasion but Kent will move back above them if they can see off Somerset at Taunton. Middlesex will move away from Lord’s as they go in search of their first win. They take on a Hampshire side who are flattering to deceive while the other match in the group sees the other unbeaten side in Sussex heading to Chelmsford to take on Essex who have lost their last two matches.

Betting

I’ll go with a couple of bets over the course of the evening and they are both in the total runs market which Bet365 are offering for all the games. The first of those is in the match between Durham and Nottinghamshire, both of whom have been high scoring sides this season and I don’t expect anything to change here. There is the perception that Durham is a low scoring ground because the playing surface is so big but they’ve relaid the squad up there and the pitches are superb for batting all of a sudden. These two sides bat very deep and with a lot of freedom so I’m fully expecting to see more than 324.5 runs here.

The first match at Headingley was a low scoring affair but that might just have been a freak because the Leeds venue has been a high scoring ground against the white ball for a while and I expect it to get back to those ways when Yorkshire take on Leicestershire on Tuesday evening. This Yorkshire top four is as powerful as anything you’ll find in the competition while the England boys are there and Leicestershire don’t lack for clean hitters at the top of the order themselves. Leicestershire’s issue has been containing sides and they’ll do well to contain a side that could legitimately bat David Willey at eight. I expect this one to be full of runs and as such I’ll take over 330.5 runs here.
