2021 Vitality T20 Blast – Thursday 10th June Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The Vitality Blast kicked off with an exciting night of action and we are hoping and expecting more of the same on Thursday when the competition continues with another seven counties getting their campaign up and running.

Just like on Wednesday, we have another four matches on Thursday to enjoy with one of them live on TV after the Test match finishes while the other three will be available via the live streaming service that the counties provide.

North Group

Lancashire got off to a winning start on Wednesday and they can assume early control of the North Group table on Thursday when they host a Leicestershire side who have a rich history in this competition. Leicestershire make their bow in the tournament here and all eyes will be on Josh Inglis to see what excitement he can bring. Speaking of excitement, Jonny Bairstow and Adil Rashid are available for Yorkshire when they get their campaign up and running against Birmingham Bears at Headingley.

South Group

The televised action comes from the South Group on Thursday evening when the first London derby of the campaign gets played out at Lord’s as Middlesex and Surrey open up their campaigns against each other. That means England captain Eoin Morgan faces his international teammates Jason Roy and the Curran brothers. The other match in the group sees the dark horses of Gloucestershire heading across the Severn Bridge to take on a Glamorgan side who might be better than their odds suggest this season.

Betting

I’ll go with the one bet on Thursday evening which comes from Old Trafford where I expect Lancashire to get off to a quick start against Leicestershire. There are a few reasons why I think that. The first one being that they have had a hit out in this competition whereas Leicestershire are playing for the first time and might well take a few overs to get going, as we saw Worcestershire do on the opening night of the season. The other reason why I expect a Lancashire flier is their top four are all big, clean hitters of a cricket ball.

That makes me think the best bet of the evening comes in the form of Lancashire to go over 50.5 runs in their first six overs. Finn Allen and Liam Livingstone didn’t really push the button against Derbyshire on Wednesday and Lightning still ended up posting 64/2 in their powerplay and now they have had that hit out I expect the scoring to be maintained that quickly. If those two fail Alex Davies and Jos Buttler can score equally as quickly so I see Lancashire surpassing this total here.

Tips

Back Lancashire – Over 50.5 first six over runs for a 3/10 stake at 1.85 with Betway
