Barclays Premier League – Sunday 3rd April Matches Betting Preview

The latest round of Premier League fixtures concludes on Sunday and for the leaders Leicester it is another massive day in the title race.

The Foxes saw Tottenham drop two points at Anfield on Saturday night and if they can beat Southampton in the early game on Sunday they will open up a seven point lead at the top with just six matches remaining. The later game sees Man Utd hosting Everton at Old Trafford.

Leicester vs Southampton

If you think this is only a big match for the home side you can think again. Whisper it quietly but Southampton can move to within four points of the Champions League places if they can find a win in this match and that has to be an incentive they will be desperate to take advantage of.

However all eyes will rightly be on the home side. They’ve been a breath of fresh air this season and with the confidence of three of their players playing for their countries and being heavily involved for the first time last weekend you would think they will all be buzzing.

That said this is a banana skin. Southampton are a very efficient side who are usually well organised under Ronald Koeman and who carry a real threat at the top end of the pitch. I can’t really decide how I think this one will go. I fancy under 2.5 goals but I’ll sit this one out in the end I think.

Man Utd vs Everton

United should be another side full of beans having beaten their local rivals Man City before the international break. If anything that break came at the wrong time especially as they look to have lost Bastian Schweinsteiger for a while after he was injured while on international duty.

Everton are a weird side. They can’t put together consistent results at home for love nor money but on the road they can take on and challenge the very best and that will be frustrating everyone at Goodison Park I’m sure.

The bare statistics speak volumes here I think. Everton have only lost one on the road all season and while United generally have a decent home record they’re fortunes in the first half of matches at Old Trafford is beyond poor.

I just wonder if Everton can get the first goal in this game whether United will have enough to get back into the game and beat them. I suspect they won’t because Everton are set up to counter the life out of opposition and they’ll be able to pick United off at will. At a perfectly fair price I have to take Everton on the Asian lines here.
