The Adelaide Strikers had back to back seasons where they topped the table in seasons four and five but they head into this campaign off the back of a disappointing effort, one which they will be out to build on over the course of the next six weeks. A talented squad is in place although a lack of depth is a concern for their chances.

Adelaide Strikers showed two and three seasons ago that they can tame anyone in this competition but that was probably when their squad was at their prime but in more recent times there has been a massive exodus which is going to put a big strain on those remaining.
I like the bowling options that the Strikers have this season but if they are going to be competitive over the course of the season they will need their star batsmen to really deliver as they do look a little light with the bat. That said South Australia made the final of the 50 over competition so they shouldn’t be ruled out.

Betting
Rashid Khan is all the rage in the top Adelaide Strikers bowler market which is understandable. He has the potential to be one of the stars of the season but he is plenty short enough which is not ideal so I’ll go to the batsmen market where the favourite looks every big a good thing at a more acceptable price.
Colin Ingram is one of the leading batsmen in the game in this format and he has scored big all around the world and the Adelaide Oval looks to be an ideal ground for the way he bats. He is going to pepper the short square boundaries and when the ball is there to go down the ground he is powerful enough to score too. With the likes of Tim Ludeman, Brad Hodge and Ben Dunk off to pastures new and Travis Head likely to miss half of the tournament on international duty Ingram has a leading chance of top scoring for the Strikers this season.
