Big Bash League – Sydney Sixers vs Hobart Hurricanes Betting Preview

There are two matches in a big day of Big Bash League action on Sunday and the opening one of those comes from the Sydney Cricket Ground as the Sydney Sixers look to bounce back from their defeat on the first night when they take on a Hobart Hurricanes side who will be making their seasonal bow.

The Sixers were downed by their rivals in Sydney in the form of the Thunder when the tournament got underway on Thursday so already they are under a little bit of pressure in this match. To begin with two defeats leaves them with an uphill task of making the semi-final even at this early stage.

To help the Sydney men in their quest to pick up a win they have their captain Moises Henriques back from suspension for this one and Steve O’Keefe has been included after injury which gives the Sixers squad a much stronger look.

Hobart Hurricanes play their first match in the tournament here and they too look very strong having done some decent work recruitment wise in the off season. The likes of Kumar Sangakkara, Daniel Christian and Shaun Tait coming into the squad really beefs them up for the new campaign.

With George Bailey, Ben Dunk, Tim Paine, Cameron Boyce and Darren Sammy all around from the start of the tournament the Hurricanes really do look well balanced with bat and ball with plenty of options with both so they have all the tools they need to go well.

I would expect Sydney will be better than they were in their opening match against the Thunder purely because two key players were back but I’m still not convinced they look strong enough to get past this Hurricanes side.

The Hurricanes look to have much more batting depth which we’ve seen in this tournament already can be important and they have some real firepower with the ball too so at a shade of odds against I’ll take the Cane Train to depart the station on time in this Big Bash League season.
