Caribbean Premier League – St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs St Lucia Zouks Betting Preview

Even this early into the Caribbean Premier League season things are getting real for the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots as they have played half of their home matches for no reward so their match against the St Lucia Zouks on Sunday is pretty much must win in order for them to get a foothold in the competition.

The Zouks have no such pressures on their shoulders. They won their opening match away from home and another one against the head here would have them in a lovely position with all their home matches to come.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots

In their first two matches in the Caribbean Premier League, the Patriots haven’t done a whole lot wrong. They haven’t quite got it right at the start of the innings when they have had the bat in their hand and they haven’t been good at the death with the ball but the rest of the matches have been good you would have to say.

The problem that St Kitts and Nevis have is that their home games are coming thick and fast and they don’t get a lot of a chance to work on what they need to improve on so they require a little bit of luck that it all comes good while they are out in the battle. They also have to get themselves up again after defeat the day before which again is never easy.

St Lucia Zouks

I would imagine the Zouks are feeling pretty good about life at the minute. They knocked off the defending champions with plenty in hand in their opening match and have had a few days off to reassess and get themselves back up for this one which is certainly beneficial in this particular tournament.

St Lucia’s top six all contributed in the win over Trinbago in their opening match but what was really impressive was the number of bowling options Darren Sammy was able to use and none of them really let him down and on this small ground that could certainly be an added bonus.

Betting

We’ve got one of those situations when the schedule isn’t doing a side a favour again. As with all the other times in the last couple of weeks that leads me to take on the team who have been hit hard and in this case that is the home side here.

In fairness there isn’t a whole lot between these two and I would imagine this might be a close match for long periods but when fatigue sets in – mentally as much as physically – then that could be when St Lucia push on and secure the win.

Usually I wouldn’t be looking at St Lucia as value at 4/5 and value probably isn’t the word to describe the price but sometimes you have to play the situation rather than hunt down the value. The schedule has completely gone against St Kitts and Nevis here and with the power the St Lucia Zouks have in their top six I think they can take full advantage.
