The CPL is in St Kitts for the final time on Wednesday evening when the top two clash at Warner Park. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots host the Trinbago Knight Riders in what could be an early dress rehearsal of the final of the competition.
These two sides looked the standout ones heading into the competition and that is how it has played out. Both are already secured of play-off spots and the winners here will leave the night on top of the table with matches running out.
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots
When I previewed the tournament I fancied the Patriots to be a strong outfit and that is exactly how they have proven to be. In fairness I thought their bowling attack would perform better than it has done recently, but we should credit the Warner Park groundsman for that, as he has prepared some great wickets.
I would imagine when St Kitts and Nevis head onto the road for their final two matches, their attack will be even more competitive, and that could be when their power with the bat really comes to the fore. That power goes deep in their batting line up too. Last time out they made 208 without Jonathan Carter or Devon Thomas getting to the crease.
Trinbago Knight Riders
Apart from one blip against Jamaica earlier in the competition, everything will have gone to plan for the Knight Riders. They have won six of their seven matches, and in truth they have not even been pushed close in many of those wins, as a combination of brutal power with the bat and no respite with the ball has served them well.
It is that bowling attack that could lead them all the way in the competition, but we should not underestimate their batting. I often think in this tournament too much brutality can be an issue but not here as they have the class of Darren Bravo knitting it all together. They look a formidable unit it must be said.
Team News
It would be a real surprise if St Kitts and Nevis Patriots make any changes to their side after a near perfect performance last time out. Only an injury or an illness is likely to impact anything.
Trinbago Knight Riders may decide they need another batting option on this perfect batting deck. If that is the case then Robbie Frylinck could be the one to make way having had little impact in the even thus far.

Betting
This should be a great game. I believe these are the two best sides in the tournament and on what is usually a perfect wicket for batting I expect to see some real fireworks here it must be said. This is not the ground where spin is going to have a big impact so I’m expecting the big shots to flow here.
We saw a whopping 27 sixes in the previous match on this ground and I see no reason why we are not going to see a bundle more here too. The line has moved up to 15.5 for this match, which is fair enough, but I’m still happy to take the overs.
