We head into the weekend with one match in the Caribbean Premier League on Friday night which sees the Trinbago Knight Riders back in action when they host the Guyana Amazon Warriors at the Queens Park Oval.
These two sides have begun in different fortunes so far with Trinbago having won twice in three matches and Guyana failing to win either of their two games but both go into this off the back of defeats so will be eager to win.
Trinbago Knight Riders
The Knight Riders blitzed St Lucia Stars in their opening match and then dug in when they needed to in order to beat the same opponent in their second one but they were brought down to earth in style against the Jamaica Tallawahs where a horrible collapse sent them tumbling to defeat although that might be a blessing in disguise.
That defeat will ensure that if there was any complacency creeping into their game that it will eliminate it and this early in the competition a defeat can be a positive if it is learned from in the right way. I would imagine they will be a little more careful with the bat here but collapses like that happen rarely.
Guyana Amazon Warriors
The Warriors have more of a problem on their hands. They haven’t really turned up with the bat yet in the competition and heading into the tournament that very much looked like the weaker side of their game so they need to come up with a way to put more runs on the board. A pinch hitter might be a good idea.
If they can put up enough runs then they certainly have the bowling attack to be competitive in any match with a number of spin options who will be particularly useful when they play at home. They look a little light when matched up with the Knight Riders though so they may need a brilliant individual performance to get them home.
Team News
It remains to be seen whether Trinbago make any changes to their side for this match. I would imagine they will let the same side go out again and put right what went wrong.
Guyana Amazon Warriors are crying out for Martin Guptill to return at the top of the order but if he is not ready they may be forced to be unchanged despite back to back defeats.

Betting
There is no doubt in my mind that Trinbago Knight Riders are the better of the two sides here and while I am slightly cautious after their batting collapse in the previous match I do still think they have a big win in them.
If anything that collapse could ensure that someone takes responsibility with the bat and if that is the case then they will be a hard nut to crack. There have been few signs of anything positive with the bat for the Guyana Amazon Warriors and while their bowling is on point you have to score runs. I’ll go with Trinbago to get back to winning ways with a sizeable win.
