The CSA T20 Challenge completes the fourth round of group matches on Tuesday when the four sides who are yet to play in this set of games does so on what looks like being an important day of action in the competition.
Two sides will attempt to put themselves on the verge of securing a semi-final spot on Tuesday and in the other match two teams will look to remain relevant in that particular race so we are all set for a decent day of action, one which sees both matches on Free Sports once again.
Boland Rocks vs Lions (08.00)
The first match of the day is the one where survival in the competition is the aim for the two sides involved when the Boland Rocks take on the Lions with both teams looking for a second win in the competition which keeps their destiny in their own hands.
The losers here wouldn’t be completely out of the competition but they will be seeking not just three wins from their last three matches but would probably need some bonus point help along the way as well. The Rocks opened up with a couple of defeats but then got the better of the Dragons in a super over to get off the mark. They will look to back up that win with another here. The Lions were beaten by the Western Province last time out but had beaten the Dolphins prior to that which probably sets the standard in terms of form here. This is one of those matches like we had on Monday where we have a side who has bowled well but not hit the heights expected of them with the bat in the Lions against a team who have batted pretty well but let themselves down with the ball in the Boland Rocks. We saw the team who bowled well find form with the bat in the form of the Knights on Monday and I sense this talented Lions batting can do likewise here. Boland have only taken nine wickets in three matches and that makes me think this is the time the Lions’ batters come to the fore and secure a much needed win.

North West Dragons vs Western Province (12.30)
The top two sides going into this round of matches meet to conclude the fourth set of games when the North West Dragons, who have dropped down to third place since the Titans’ win on Monday, take on the currently undefeated pacesetters of Western Province in a match where the winners will be well on course for a place in the semi-final.
The Dragons would have gone into this match unbeaten too had they not gone down in a super over to the Boland Rocks last time out but the fact that their bowlers went for more than 180 in that match offers up some concerns. There haven’t been many bullet holes in the Western Province over the first three matches and if anything they look to be getting stronger even though they have had to change personnel from time to time. Their bowling looks to be spot on and that is likely to be the difference here. Unfortunately that is reflected in the odds for this one and I’m not really a 4/7 backer in this format because anyone can have a day out in it when it is least expected so I’ll sit this one out.
