CSA T20 Challenge Final – Titans vs Warriors Betting Preview

After a month of action it is time for the final of the CSA T20 Challenge and fittingly it will be the top two in the table who do battle for the title at Centurion on Friday when the Titans take on the Warriors. The two sides shared their regular season meetings which suggests we are set for a competitive final.

The Titans will be aiming to defend the title with a win here having won the tournament last year while the Warriors will be looking for a first success this decade so there is plenty on the line in this final.

Titans

The Titans led the table almost from start to finish. They flew out of the traps this season and despite a mid-season wobble they held their nerve in the final match to seal top spot which means they get home advantage in this final. They went into their final game against the Warriors knowing the winner would top the table and the Titans came out on top in a five over slog.

The star of the show for the Titans this season has been Ferhaan Behardien. He has delivered some of the best innings of the tournament and you can’t keep him out of the game in the field either. His 50 to send the Titans straight through to this final was one of the best displays of clean hitting we will see.

Warriors

Having lost that final league game to the Titans, the Warriors had to come through a semi-final against the Highveld Lions on Tuesday. The Warriors cruised to victory in a match where they judged the early conditions well and bowled brilliantly before having the batting depth to chase down what was ultimately a meagre total.

JJ Smuts has been their star man this season. He has a century to his name and has been quite brilliant but he hasn’t been alone as a star for the Warriors. Colin Ingram, Christiaan Jonker and Andrew Birch have all delivered the goods when they have needed to so the Warriors will head into this final with plenty of match winners.

Betting

I think this will be a good final. Time will tell whether the extra game the Warriors have played will be a positive or a negative but we’ve seen in their matches so far that there isn’t a lot between the two teams. If I was going to bet on the match outcome I would probably side with the value which is on the Warriors. They are a little overpriced but not massively.

It has been a good tournament for us on the sixes front and I’m going to round off the competition with another bet in that market. Centurion is a good ground for sixes. The wicket is usually flat, the boundaries are short and with the altitude too the ball flies further. Both sides have shown us they have plenty of power in their batting line ups so 12 sixes looks well within range. The last game here had 23 sixes so there should be a dozen in this one.

Tips

Back Over 11.5 sixes for a 4/10 stake at 1.85 with Coral
