CSA T20 Challenge – Wednesday 16th November Matches Betting Preview

The CSA T20 Challenge continues with a pair of matches on Wednesday afternoon as the tournament begins to take a little bit of shape. Each side in the competition have played one match so they should come on for the run so to speak.

We have a match which is televised on Wednesday and one which is away from the cameras. We’ll kick off this preview with the TV match.

Cape Cobras vs Titans

The last two champions meet for the first time this season in Paarl. The Cobras lost their opening match on Saturday while the Titans were emphatic winners against an average Highveld Lions side so both began in different ways.

I think these are the two best sides in the competition and it is still too early for me to split them given that both played their opening match at altitude and on a ground which is different to any in South Africa so I’m reluctant to get stuck into the match betting.

I do like the sixes line here. Only two of the eight matches on this ground in the last four seasons have had more than 8.5 sixes and when you look at the ODIs here it is a tough scoring ground with boundaries in general low let alone sixes. Batsmen aren’t yet up to speed and both sides have good bowling attacks here so I’ll side with the unders.

Dolphins vs Highveld Lions

Two sides who copped a couple of heavy beatings meet in the other match on Wednesday. Dolphins were useless with the bat and in truth not a whole lot better with the ball and you could level the same accusations at the Lions as well.

Clearly both will perform better than that as the competition goes on but I think I’ll wait until they have done that before I start forming strong opinions either way. This one is easy to sit out given the uncertain nature of the two sides thus far.

Tips

WON – Back Cape Cobras vs Titans – Under 8.5 sixes for a 4/10 stake at 1.83 with William Hill

  1. Do you know why the crowds are so bad /

    • Probably a combination of things – games being played during the working week, ticket prices and the fact the games are on tv.
