Dutch Darts Championship 2025 – Day 2 Tips and Betting Preview

The middle day of action at the Dutch Darts Championship sees the second round of the tournament taking place against two sessions of play in Rosmalen on Saturday with the 32 players taking to the stage looking to seal a spot in the final day of the event.

This is the day where the seeded players enter the competition so the profile and intensity of the tournament is about to ramp up and when you look down the card we have plenty of great darts to look forward to.

Afternoon Session

It is the Australian number one Damon Heta who is the first seed onto the stage. He meets the home man Jeffrey Sparidaans to get the day underway and when they are done the reigning European champion Ritchie Edhouse will look to cause a bit of an upset when he meets Dave Chisnall. The third match onto the stage in the afternoon looks a juicy clash as Michael Smith takes on the dangerous Ryan Joyce. We reach the halfway point in the session with Jonny Clayton meeting Max Hopp in what should be an enjoyable game.

Two men who have won TV tournaments in the past get the second half of the afternoon underway when Chris Dobey takes on Daryl Gurney before Martin Schindler begins his quest for another European Tour title when he faces the Grand Slam finalist Martin Schindler. The penultimate match of the afternoon sees the home star Danny Noppert meeting Mario Vandenbogaerde before we conclude the session with two Ryans as Ryan Searle takes on Ryan Meikle.

Evening Session

We have a fantastic evening session in store on Saturday and it gets going with James Wade taking on the popular home star Dirk van Duijvenbode before William O’Connor looks to make the most of his chance to replace a seed after the withdrawal of Gerwyn Price. He meets Boris Krcmar. Ross Smith is the next seed onto the stage when he takes on the Dutch legend Raymond van Barneveld before we get to the halfway point of the session with Peter Wright taking on Wessel Nijman.

The world number one Luke Humphries brings us out of the interval when he gets his competition up and running against the Scottish player Cameron Menzies. The big home star Michael van Gerwen will take to the stage in the sixth game of the evening. He will hope the home crowd helps him turn his form around when he faces Mickey Mansell. The penultimate match of the night sees Stephen Bunting taking on Niko Springer and then the second round concludes with Josh Rock beginning his title defence when he faces Ricardo Pietreczko.

Betting

There were a couple of bets which tempted me over the course of the day but I just couldn’t bring myself to pull the trigger on them so in the end I’ll go with just the one punt which comes along in the evening session where I’m surprised that Boris Krcmar is the outsider and is odds against to get the better of William O’Connor. Usually O’Connor would have gone into Saturday having won a Friday match but he replaced Gerwyn Price so didn’t have that luxury.

Krcmar did though as he had to compete in the first round and he had a very impressive win against Gian van Veen in a deciding leg. To beat him anyway would be a serious achievement but to do it with a 100 average when he hasn’t got a tour card is very appealing. In fact, given that he doesn’t have a tour card, just being here is a huge thing. Krcmar hasn’t qualified for every event of the European Tour this season but the ones he has been at he has made an impression. He has four wins in European Tour events this term now and the four men he has beaten are Josh Rock, Michael van Gerwen, Dirk van Duijvenbode and Gian van Veen and all four are much higher ranked than O’Connor. O’Connor has played three matches on the European Tour this season and he has lost the lot. I think he loses this one too.

Tips

Back B.Krcmar to beat W.O’Connor for a 3/10 stake at 2.20 with William Hill
