Euro 2020 Qualifying – Tuesday 10th September Matches Tips and Betting Preview

It is the final night of Euro 2020 qualifiers for this international period on Tuesday evening and while the matches might be closing down a little there is no shortage of star names on show to round off a good week of action.

The defending champions Portugal and the world champions France are just two of the teams competing in the seven matches while home eyes will be on England to see if their serene passage to the finals continues.

Group A

England will look to continue their progress in this group when they take a game around the country to take on second placed Kosovo at Southampton. When the group began this was seen as the easiest game for the Three Lions but there is enough to suggest that might not be the case. Should Kosovo lose that match the Czech Republic will move into second if they can find a win in Montenegro at the same time.

Group B

The Ukraine are running away with this section of the draw but they are not in action on Tuesday night which gives the defending champions Portugal the chance to close the gap on them. They head to Lithuania for a match they will be widely expected to win while in the other game Serbia have the slightly more difficult task of coming past Luxembourg if they are to keep their hopes of coming second realistically alive.

Group H

This crazy race for the two qualifying spots in Group H could take another twist on Tuesday evening when the three protagonists all avoid each other once again. All three won on Saturday and now France, Iceland and Turkey will look to do likewise here. France have what should be a walkover against Iceland while Turkey will be expected to win in Moldova. It is Iceland who have the trickier looking assignment. They head to Albania for a match which has the look of a banana skin all over it.

Betting

There isn’t a whole lot to like about these matches if I’m honest but there is one bet I’m happy enough to strike which comes in the form of the England against Kosovo match. I’m not convinced this will be the cakewalk many in the English media think it will be. Kosovo had a good Nations League campaign, albeit against much inferior foes, and they are in decent nick in this section too after their win over Czech Republic at the weekend.

Kosovo have scored in every match in this qualifying group and they have little to lose here, not least because it if does go tits up for them from here on in they have a spot in the play-offs to fall back on. England showed a vulnerable side to them against Bulgaria where Jordan Pickford had to make a couple of saves and if their players aren’t quite as up for this as they should be I wouldn’t be surprised to see both teams find the back of the net in this one. At just under 6/4 I’ll take both teams to score.
