Euro 2024 Qualifying – Monday 27th March Matches Tips and Betting Preview

It is the penultimate night of Euro 2024 qualifying for this international window on Monday night and the four groups which began on Friday evening are the ones back under the microscope for the second time.

That means that we will once again have the likes of France, the Netherlands, Sweden and Serbia headlining play on an evening where there looks to be the potential for a fair few one-sided contests rather than anything close.

Group B

France began their quest to regain the European Championship title with an emphatic win over the Netherlands in their opening match of the campaign and they will look to back that up when they head to Dublin to take on the Republic of Ireland in their second game. Ireland sat out the opening round so start their qualifying quest here. The other match in this group sees the Netherlands looking to bounce back from a pretty tame defeat to the French if we are being honest. They play host to Gibraltar in a match they will be expected to win and win well.

Group E

The Czech Republic made a positive start to their latest European Championship quest on Friday evening when they dominated Poland and they will go in search of the perfect international window when they make the trip to Moldova. Poland have an immediate chance to bounce back from that poor showing in their first match when they host an Albania side who kick off their qualifying campaign with a tricky looking assignment.

Group F

Sweden were pretty ruthlessly dealt with by Belgium in the opening round of matches in Group F and they will be looking to immediately bounce back from that when they play host to Azerbaijan in a match the Swedes should be dominating. Belgium aren’t in action on Monday night so Austria will be looking to take early control of the group with a second win in this window. They host an Estonia side who start out on their qualifying campaign in this one after they sat out the first round of matches.

Group G

Serbia are the team expected to dominate Group G and they got off to a winning start on Friday night. They will now travel to the other team who opened up with a win in the first set of games when they head to neighbours Montenegro for what might be a feisty clash between two proud nations. The other match sees Hungary starting out in their quest to qualify for a second straight European Championship when they host a Bulgaria side who were beaten at home on Friday and will be looking to put that right.

Betting

Montenegro is probably a harder place for Serbia to go than any other team in the competition but I still expect the higher ranked side to come out on top in what is likely to be a fiercely contested contest. There aren’t many teams outside the elite in Europe that can boast the attacking power that Serbia can and ultimately it is goals which win matches at this level so I’m going to back the likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dusan Vlahovic to get the job done.

Montenegro started out in good fashion with a win in Bulgaria but they didn’t really show they belonged at League B level in the Nations League while Serbia would be the upper end of that if not now a League A side in that competition. Prior to that win over Bulgaria on Friday, Montenegro had one win in seven matches which includes losses to Finland twice and Slovenia. I think Serbia would be favourites to beat both and I think their class can come through here.
