Euro 2024 Qualifying – Tuesday 28th March Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The final night of the opening wave of Euro 2024 qualifying matches takes place around the continent on Tuesday when the three groups yet to have their second matchday do so over the course of the evening.

It means that we get to see the likes of Spain, Croatia and Switzerland all in action for the second time in this international window as they look to pick up three points which would move them closer to a spot in the finals.

Group A

It is in Group A where the former champions Spain are housed in this campaign. They got off to a positive start on Saturday evening and will be looking to build on that when they head to Glasgow to take on a Scotland who also won their opening match in the group. The other match in that section comes in the early kick off where Georgia will get their campaign up and running against a Norway side who need to bounce back from defeat to Spain in their opening game.

Group D

Croatia are the headline attraction in Group D and after conceding a late equaliser in their opening match on Saturday, they will be looking for three points when they make the awkward looking trip to Turkey in what is the pick of the matches on the evening. Wales were the ones to stole a point from Croatia on the opening night of the group and they are back in action on Tuesday. They welcome Latvia to Cardiff with the visitors starting out their campaign after a narrow loss to the Republic of Ireland in a friendly last week.

Group I

Switzerland certainly laid their stall out to dominate Group I on Saturday night when they were emphatic winners in Belarus and they will host Israel looking for the perfect start to their campaign. Romania had a solid opening win in Andorra and they will be hoping to build on that when they welcome Belarus to Bucharest while in the other match Kosovo will be looking for a first win in the group when they entertain Andorra.

Betting

Romania probably weren’t as convincing as they would have wanted to be in Andorra on Saturday evening but they did get the job done and they will be looking to build on that when they host a Belarus side who have to bounce back from a bit of a mauling at the hands of Switzerland at the weekend. Belarus were not one of the teams expected to do much from the outset and such an emphatic opening defeat might only push them further back.

I’m a little surprised we can get a half decent price on Romania to cover just a 1.25 goal start on the Asian lines. The match in Andorra would have been a good preparation in breaking a low block down and you would imagine they are not going to struggle for tempo or inspiration now that they are back in front of their home supporters who should create a decent atmosphere. I fully expect Romania to win this match so the worst we can do is lose half our stake but based on recent results Romania to cover fully looks good to me.
