European Darts Grand Prix 2025 – Day 2 Tips and Betting Preview

The middle day of the European Darts Grand Prix takes place out in Sindelfingen on Saturday as spots in the final day of the sixth European Tour event of the campaign are on the line across two sessions of darting action.

As ever with the second day of these tournaments, this is the day where we see the seeded players for the first time so the quality is expected to ramp up from here on in, although it must be said that it wasn’t too bad to begin with.

Afternoon Session

We begin a good looking day of darts with an all-Dutch clash between Danny Noppert and the exciting prospect that is Wessel Nijman. When they are done the Australian number one Damon Heta faces the Grand Slam finalist Martin Lukeman before the former world champion Michael Smith will open up his weekend against one of the home players in Daniel Klose. We head to the halfway point of the afternoon with a tasty clash between the defending champion Gary Anderson and the winner two European Tour events ago in Gian van Veen.

Three Premier League players are on stage in the second part of the afternoon session with Chris Dobey the first of those. He will meet Luke Woodhouse before Nathan Aspinall begins his quest for a second European Tour title on the season when he takes on Niels Zonneveld. Two really good looking matches round off the afternoon when Rob Cross faces the World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker before Dave Chisnall concludes the session against last week’s finalist Ross Smith.

Evening Session

We have a cracking evening session in store out in Sindelfingen too and two top class operators get it up and running when James Wade meets Joe Cullen before Jonny Clayton begins his weekend with a clash against the former UK Open champion Andrew Gilding. Two former world champions meet in the third match of the evening when Gerwyn Price faces off against Raymond van Barneveld before Peter Wright gets his quest for another European Tour title underway when he takes on Leon Weber.

We come into the second half of the evening session with an all-Dutch clash which has the potential to be a pearler when Dirk van Duijvenbode meets Michael van Gerwen before the world number one Luke Humphries looks to overcome a dangerous challenger in Connor Scutt. Martin Schindler continues his quest for a second European Tour title in as many weeks when he faces Josh Rock before a really good day of darts concludes with the popular Stephen Bunting taking on Cameron Menzies.

Betting

This is a decent day of darts but not actually one where bets are readily obvious. I did consider backing Wessel Nijman to beat Danny Noppert but he missed a lot of doubles on Friday night which put me off that, especially as he isn’t insane value even though I fancy him to win. In the end I’ve decided to go with the winner last week, Martin Schindler, to get the better of Josh Rock for the second weekend in a row.

Schindler beat Rock in the semi-final in Graz last week and now he gets to reoppose him in front of a home crowd where you would imagine by the time they get onto the stage the atmosphere will be quite boisterous. Schindler has had the advantage of a match on the stage this week and is clearly in fine fettle having won the European Tour event last week. Schindler had Chris Dobey among his victims last weekend and the event before that he saw off Jonny Clayton and he looks a big price to prevail here.

Tips

Back M.Schindler to beat J.Rock for a 3/10 stake at 2,45 with Coral
