European Masters Snooker – Day 2 Betting Preview

The first round of the European Masters snooker draws to an end on Tuesday when eight more matches take place on the two table set up out in Romania. The big names made it safely through the opening day with the exception of Marco Fu and we have plenty more star players playing in the two sessions on the second day of the tournament.

Early Session

There are five matches in the early session as we add an extra TV match to proceedings. That extra match is on first as Zak Surety takes on Liang Wenbo. Following them on the main table is Judd Trump and Ben Woollaston while Alfie Burden plays Yu Delu on the other table.

The session is rounded off when the world champion Mark Selby comes out to play again when he faces Dominic Dale. Selby has already played this week which might give him an advantage. The other table sees Mark Allen and Daniel Womersley battling on it in a match the Ulsterman is a massive favourite in.

Late Session

Just the three matches take place in this session but two of them will be on TV. The first of those sees Shaun Murphy going up against Mark Davis while Ronnie O’Sullivan takes on Dave Gilbert in the second of the two TV games. The other table will have Luca Brecel battling it out against Scott Donaldson.

Betting

As with Monday I’m treading slightly carefully in this card. Players are still making their way into the tournament and adjusting to the new conditions and the format doesn’t make for ploughing into bets either but just like Monday there is one I like.

That comes in the opening match in the later session where Mark Davis could be overpriced against Shaun Murphy. Davis has won their last two major tournament meetings and he’ll know that and it will give him confidence. Murphy recently became a father so he might be lacking for sleep and subconsciously he might want to get back home and see the little one if he falls a couple of frames down.

I’m not surprised that Davis has a good record against Murphy. He knows he isn’t going to get tied down in a safety battle so it is all about scoring and that is the strength of his game. At 9/4 I’ll pay to see if he has another win over the Magician in him.
