FIFA Club World Cup 2025 – Monday 30th June Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The FIFA Club World Cup continues on Monday night when another two round of 16 matches take place on an evening where two European giants and two of the better teams from the rest of the world battle it out for a place in the quarter finals of the competition.

The winners of the two matches will collide in the last eight so we get to have a good look at a potential quarter final clash on a night of football which certainly looks competitive and will hopefully catch fire fairly quickly.

Inter Milan vs Fluminense (20.00 – Channel 5 & DAZN)

We begin the night with the second Europe vs South America clash of the round as the Champions League finalists Inter Milan, winners of Group E in the first stage, take on the runners-up of Group F in the form of the Brazilian side Fluminense in Charlotte.

It is fair to say that these two sides have battled their way through to the knockout stage rather than flourish their way there but both teams went unbeaten in the groups which suggests we could be in for a hugely competitive encounter here. There was a concern going into the tournament that this aging Fluminense side could find the going tough but they have used their experience to good effect. They were outplayed by the Mamelodi Sundowns in the last game though and are struggling to create big chances. They have only had five big chances all tournament and against a defensively astute Inter side that is unlikely to change. It might need to though because Inter have offered more in attack than their goal output would suggest. Inter have put up xG totals of over 2 in all three of their group games and if they click in attack then they could give someone a good going over. There is still a feeling that they could be a little conservative though, especially under Cristian Chivu, who has a reputation for being on the more defensive side and you imagine that will be further strengthened by the knockout nature of this tie. I still think Inter will eventually find a way through but I’d like to juice up their price and Inter to win and under 3.5 goals looks a good way to do that. There shouldn’t be much in this and the heat and humidity could slow down the pace of the game too so at odds against that looks the way forward in this one.

Manchester City vs Al-Hilal (02.00 – Channel 5 & DAZN)

The later match on Monday night takes us to Orlando in Florida for the clash between the Group G winners Manchester City of England and the Saudi Arabia representative at this tournament in Al-Hilal, who came home with a flourish to finish second in Group H.

Manchester City reached the knockout stages as the only team in the tournament to win all three of their group games and they visibly got better with each one despite rotating their squad to keep them fresh for what is to come. Al-Hilal got their first win of the competition in their last group match and while they have played well throughout the event, the big concern for them is a lack of potency in front of goal. They will need to find that here though because it is difficult to think they will be able to contain this City side for the entire 90 minutes. I’ll go with a couple of bets here. The first one is for City to win to nil. I expect a comfortable City win here but the Asian line of 1.75 needs a three goal win for a full cover and I think Al-Hilal merits a little more respect defensively than that but the problem they have is they just look a little impotent. They have only scored three goals in this tournament, one was a penalty and the other deep into the game against Pachuca when the Mexicans were chasing the game, which I don’t expect City to be doing. If that wasn’t bad enough, the scorer of the first goal against Pachuca, Salem Al Dawsari, is out with a hamstring injury and joins Aleksandar Mitrovic on the sidelines. That negates the Al-Hilal threat and makes me think that City will win to nil.

The other bet I like in this one is for Rayan Ait-Nouri to have a shot on target, something he achieved against Juventus in the last game for Manchester City. He also had two shots against Al Ain which didn’t hit the target so as ever for Pep Guardiola, the left-back remains an attacking threat. With Malcom not much of a help for Joao Cancelo down that side and the former City full-back needing to keep tabs on Jeremy Doku and the rest of the Al-Hilal defence focusing on Erling Haaland, the Moroccan should be able to drift into the positions to be key to the attack. Ait-Nouri had a shot on target in four of his last eight matches for Wolves and has already picked up where he left off here and I think he’s good value to hit the target once more here.
