The second set of two quarter finals take place at the FIFA Club World Cup on Saturday as four European heavyweights do battle for a spot against each other in the semi-final of the lucrative competition next week.
We have the Champions League winners, Bundesliga champions, multiple time kings of Europe and one of the better teams in Germany on show on a day where the quality looks absolutely guaranteed from start to finish.
Paris Saint-Germain vs Bayern Munich (17.00 – DAZN)
The opening match of the day takes us to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta as the Champions League winners meet the Bundesliga champions when Paris Saint-Germain go up against Bayern Munich in the standout clash of the round.
These two sides have shown themselves to be the best or up there with the best that Europe has to offer and one of them will progress to attempt to be considered the best club side in the world. You would imagine that this one is tailor made for goals and that is the angle that I am going to take in this game, PSG ones in particular. It is a little hard to work out what they have beaten so far in this tournament but the 4-0 win over Atletico Madrid feels like a good guide and while Inter Miami were there for the taking in the last 16, they could have had three times the four goals they actually got. Going further back, PSG scored five past a committed Inter Milan defence in the Champions League final and now face a Bayern back line who have already conceded to Boca Juniors and to Benfica in this tournament and twice to Flamengo and this PSG attack is a lot more dynamic than that one. The suggestion is that the French side will be in front at some point in this match which will bring Bayern out even more and the Parisians have more than enough in their ranks to take full advantage. At 10/11 I think Paris to score two or more looks good to me.

Real Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund (21.00 – Channel 5 & DAZN)
The last of the quarter finals to get underway does so in New York where Real Madrid will look to keep up their charge for the title when they take on the Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in a cracking looking match.
Real Madrid go into this one as the warm favourites to win the match and they do look like they are moving through the gears with every match that they have played but Dortmund produced their best attacking 45 minutes of football in the previous game and that bodes well for their hopes of causing an upset. You would imagine that we will get goals here but I am getting a little bit tired of betting on them only for chance after chance to be spurned. You would imagine that the quality on show here will ensure that the ball will go into the back of the net if the chances present themselves but the bet I like in this one is for there to be over 3.5 shots on target from Borussia Dortmund. It feels like a low line anyway when you consider that Pachuca had 11 shots on target against this Madrid defence earlier in the competition. It is an easy argument to make that they have improved since then but it does show how they can be opened up, even allowing for the fact they were down to 10 men in that game. Dortmund have had at least three shots on target in every match in this tournament and when these two met in the Champions League last term they had seven from just eight shots. Dortmund had four or more shots on target in 10 of their last 12 matches to end the season, with the two they didn’t get to four they had three. In a do or die game we have to think they’ll get to four here.
